Last night, we went with the rookie Jadarian Price on the receptions, and we hit his base over, but did not climb. Tonight, we’re doing the opposite and going with the proven receiving back, Christian McCaffrey.
CMC last season hit the 4.5 line in 15 of 19 games (including playoffs). A 79% clip, and hit the 6+ line in 12 of 19 games, a 63% clip.
In BOTH his matchups against the Rams last season, McCaffrey had exactly 8 receptions, and that feels like it could very easily be in the cards again tonight. With Mike Evans and George Kittle returning from injuries and could very well be on snap counts, and the Rams bringing in future Hall of Famer Myles Garrett, who just broke the single-season sack record. I am expecting Brock Purdy to dump off to his sure-fire short target a lot tonight. Over 4.5 receptions is my favorite play in general today, and the data shows that McCaffrey is in a great spot to go over.

I'm also expecting the Rams to be out in front in this one, which will force Brock Purdy to continue throwing the ball and, ideally, lead to more opportunities for McCaffrey. Let’s see if we can climb a bit tonight and exploit what seems like a soft line for Week 1.
As always, if you value my insights and want all of my plays tonight, follow along on X.
