Fresh off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks have seen their odds of winning the NFC West decline, falling two games back in the division standings. Luckily for the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks will have a great opportunity to round back into form against the Denver Broncos by neutralizing an offense that struggles to air out the ball.

Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Betting Odds For Week 6

  • Spread: Seahawks -3 (-105, DraftKings)
  • Moneyline: Seahawks (-148, DraftKings)
  • Game Total: 41 (Over -112/Under -108, BetRivers)

Since the start of the regular season, the Seattle Seahawks have been dominant on defense, fielding a unit that resides near the top of the board in DVOA. The Seahawks' relentless pressure forces opposing QBs into making ill-advised mistakes, setting up Sam Darnold with generous field position.

The Denver Broncos, meanwhile, have been unable to get into a groove while struggling to stop the run, plummeting to 28th in rush EPA allowed per play. A stunning turnaround after last year’s success, yet the Broncos' inability to bottle up the opposing running back has been a constant thorn in the side of the defense five weeks into the season.

With glaring red flags on defense, oddsmakers lean toward Seattle, listing the Seahawks at the key number of -3. Bettors believe we are in for a defensive slugfest, steaming the total down to 40.5 in some sportsbooks shortly after opening at 41.5.

Prediction & Pick For Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Week 6 Matchup

  • The Pick: Broncos Team Total u19.5 (-106, Caesars)

Speaking of stopping the run, the Seahawks' front seven have been able to consistently hold opposing RBs to minimal gains, entering Week 6 ranked in the top 4 in EPA allowed per play and success rate. The Seahawks' interior pressure forces the ball carrier to fight off contact behind the line of scrimmage, making it difficult to burst through the trenches.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, J.K. Dobbins has struggled to extend plays with his legs while ranking near dead last in yards over expected per attempt. Even with the Broncos' offensive line widening his running lanes, Dobbins has been unable to capitalize on the protection he receives from the front five, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry.

With Seattle’s defensive line consistently collapsing the interior, the Seahawks will be able to anchor LBs in coverage, making it easier to keep a defender near the point of contact for all four quarters. The extra bodies across the middle will smother Bo Nix’s passing lanes, increasing the amount of havoc in his throws.

When Denver is held to an early out, the Broncos' inability to stop the run will allow the Seahawks to keep the ball on the ground while controlling the time of possession. With less time on the clock, Denver will have fewer opportunities to get into scoring position, shading value toward the under on the team total. If you want to diversify your risk, place a separate wager on the Seahawks to cover the spread at no higher than the key number of -3.

Best Player Prop Bet For Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos

Bo Nix - u21.5 Pass Completions (-113, FanDuel)

It has been an abysmal start to the year for Nix, limping into Thursday ranked in the bottom 10 in QB EPA per play, success rate, and CPOE while averaging just 5.6 air yards. The Broncos' offensive line’s struggles in pass protection have played a major role in Nix’s regression this season, hovering in the bottom half of the board in true pass set grade.

In a daunting matchup against the Seahawks, Nix will need to get the ball out of his hands shortly after the snap while under relentless pressure, drastically lowering the quality of his throws. The Seahawks' pressure will also give the Broncos' pass catchers less time in the open field to create separation, forcing the Broncos' QB to either throw into a tight window or extend the play with his legs.
