NFL DFS Tournament (GPP) Plays For Week 5: Christian McCaffrey & More

Jason Cohen breaks down his favorite NFL DFS GPP plays for the WEek 5 Sunday slate.

We are on to Week 5 of the NFL season. There are 11 games for us to break down for this Sunday's NFL DFS main slate. I'm going to break down the NFL DFS GPP plays that I like on this slate. This could be a QB and receiver stack that I like, a sneaky RB in a good spot, or a standalone WR/TE.

The goal here is to find players who will be under 10% owned. Getting different with these players allows you to get to safer and higher-owned pieces across the rest of your lineup. Let's dive into it!

DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS Week 5 GPP Plays

Christian McCaffrey - SF RB ($8,200 DraftKings, $8,400 FanDuel)

CMC has been flying under the radar all season. He was a letdown in Week 1 as chalk, and his usage was not great. Everyone has been scared off him since. We saw his ownership tick up last week, and he was still a letdown. Even with this slight dip in usage, McCaffrey is still too cheap at this price and looks like a good GPP option. He is still very involved in the passing game, and should start to find the end zone more than he has thus far. Jahmyr Gibbs is a tough fade, but at his absurd price, I like going down into the next tier and taking a shot on someone like CMC, who still has a massive ceiling.

Kenyon Sadiq - NYJ TE ($3,800 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel)

The best-looking value TE, Kenyon Sadiq looks like a good GPP pivot at the position. We know tight end can go many ways, with the way that they are targeted in the red zone, as well as the volatility across the board. The chalk right now is spending up at tight end, but I like the angle of spending down to someone like Sadiq. He had a super strong start to the season, including a 7-reception, 105-yard performance in Week 3. He was scoreless last week, and some are going to write him off. He played 70% of the team's snaps, so it was nothing more than he wasn't being found. I like him to bounce back this week vs. the Browns.

Jayden Daniels - WAS QB ($6,000 DraftKings, $8000 FanDuel)

We get Jayden Daniels projected to come back from injury this week, and no one seems to be clicking him in a matchup vs. the Giants. I projected the Giants game last week to be run-heavy, but it was the opposite. It was a complete shootout led by the passing attacks. We could see that here again.

Tyson Bagent - CHI QB ($4,700 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel), Luther Burden - CHI WR ($4,900 DraftKings, $5,900 FanDuel)

To end off my GPP plays, I'm going to look at a Bears stack. I have been attacking the Bears for a couple of weeks now, starting with their primetime matchup vs. the Eagles, where they pulled off a massive upset. The Bears have given the starting position over to Tyson Bagent, and he looked great in his first week starting. It didn't quite translate to fantasy production, as he had no TDs, as well as a quiet 4Q in a game where they were ahead. I loved what I saw, though, and throwing for 270 passing yards in what was basically 3 quarters is great to see. I like this spot against the Packers, and I'm going to ride the hot hand with Burden, who has been getting peppered with targets. He's been super relied on with Caleb Williams out.

Week 5 boasts some very enticing GPP stacks. There is a lot of high-owned value, and spend up chalk. Finding ways to get different is going to be key to winning a tournament. There are a lot of good spots to attack here that are low-owned and provide a massive ceiling. I love getting to a lower-owned stack and then filling my lineup out with some safe, chalkier pieces. Good luck, and let's win some GPPs.
