Week 7 FanDuel NFL DFS Picks: Target Saquon Barkley, Justin Jefferson and More
Geoff Ulrich targets the NFL DFS plays on FanDuel in Week 7, highlighting Saquon Barkley, George Pickens, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Love and Tucker Kraft.
With the weekend here, it’s time to focus on the Sunday DFS slate for Week 3 and take a shot at some of the monster prize pools available across the DFS industry.
What are we looking at today?Week 7 NFL Picks for FanDuel GPPs and the Sunday Million
FanDuel awards bonuses now at 100+ yards (3 points passing/receiving/rushing), but their 0.5 PPR setting does make TDs more valuable and receptions less so—something to keep in mind.
The plays and salaries listed here will be specific to FanDuel and their salary cap contests. However, since we’re also relying on the FantasyLife+ projections, tools and advice, the specific game matchups and correlations (aka game stacks) are things you can apply to lineup building across the DFS industry. If you'd like my favorite plays and GPP targets that are specific to DraftKings, you can also find them here.Let’s get started. Week 7 FanDuel picks are here.
Week 7 FanDuel GPP Contrarian Stack
Saquon Barkley (8700), with Carson Wentz (6600)/Justin Jefferson (9000)
- Pair with: Jordan Addison (6100)
Saquon Barkley enters this week having been held to under 60 rushing yards in four straight games, but is in a great spot to break out of his slump in Week 7. The Eagles will face a Minnesota defense that ranks 25th in EPA vs. the rush and has allowed over 90 yards to an opposing RB in back-to-back games. For DFS, I like using Barkley more on FanDuel for the simple fact he’s not an RB that typically hits 4-5 receptions, so his upside comes more on long TD plays. Game Theory-wise, he’s my preferred pivot if fading the popular Jonathan Taylor this week, but the two could certainly be played together in a double-RB payup build.
The Vikings ruled out J.J. McCarthy for another week which means we also get a shot at using cheap Carson Wentz vs. an Eagles defense that got smoked last week by rookie Jaxson Dart. Unlike Dart, Wentz has actual elite WRs to throw to, so while we won’t get the same rushing upside we got with Dart, Wentz does have a shot at replicating the kind of numbers we saw him post two weeks ago (350-2-2) against another vulnerable defense in Pittsburgh.
With CB Quinyon Mitchell healthy, there is some validity in fading Justin Jefferson, who is the most expensive WR on the slate and pairing Wentz only with Jordan Addison, whose ceiling is similar to Jefferson’s and comes a lot cheaper. I’d likely rather play both together, or just eat a little chalk and take Jefferson solo, but certainly, if you were targeting this game with multiple builds, making a contrarian lineup that featured just Wentz and Addison is a play to consider this week.
Week 7 FanDuel “Big-Brain” Value Stack
Bo Nix (6400) and Courtland Sutton (5700), with Cam Skattebo (8000)
- Pair with Evan Engram (5300)
This is a solid bounceback spot for the Broncos passing game. The Giants have surrendered the seventh most passing yards to opposing QBs and Denver’s 23.75 implied team total is eighth largest on the slate. Despite that, Nix and his receivers should all be under-owned thanks to their DST being so popular and the offense coming off a terrible game in London.
The Broncos made it a thing to avoid Sutton’s tough matchup with Sauce Gardner last week, but he should see a healthy dose of targets vs. the Giants secondary. The Giants don’t have a true shutdown corner and come into this week’s game having allowed the third most FPPG to opposing WRs on the season. They’ve allowed at least one WR to go for 70+ yards in every single game this season and have also allowed the most yards to WRs on the season.
You could also add in Evan Engram for a Denver triple stack, but Giants RB Cam Skattebo also makes sense if targeting this game. With Denver’s elite defense, the Giants should use him more in the short pass game this week and he’s still going to get preferred goal-line touches. Even if the Giants score limited points, he’ll have a great shot at being the primary producer for them in that regard.
FanDuel Core Targets for Week 7
Jacory Croskey-Merritt (6600)
- Pair with George Pickens (8000)
Jacory Croskey-Merritt hit a season high 71% rush rate in Week 6 and he was one of only two backs to receive a carry in that game. Week 7 should be a perfect bounceback spot for him vs. the Cowboys, who rank bottom three vs. the rush and have allowed the third most FP per game to opposing RBs. Considering Terry McLaurin (hamstring) and Deebo Samuel have both been ruled out, Bill should see big usage and potentially may allow you to corner the market on most, if not all, of the Washington TDs.
On the flip side, George Pickens’ dominance should continue in this spot vs. a Washington secondary that has allowed the ninth most TDs to opposing WRs. Even with CeeDee Lamb back, I’d rather back Pickens (at lower ownership) finding one more big game before the Cowboys go back to giving Lamb more primary targets.
2. Tucker Kraft (6300)
- Pair with Jordan Love (7800)
Overall, the Cardinals’ defense has allowed the sixth most FP to opposing TEs and third most yards to the position, and will now face Kraft, a legit YAC beast who leads all TEs with 10 or more catches on the year in yards per reception (14.9). He’ll have every shot at being the leading point scorer at TE in Week 7.
The Cardinals defense is also a far better rush-stopping unit than they are vs. the pass necessarily, so Jordan Love also makes sense this week to target from the QB-slot. With the Packers defense allowing an average of 29 points over their last two games, this game has sneaky shootout potential overall.
