Buy, Sell, Hold: Trading for George Kittle, Screaming Into a Void Over TreVeyon Henderson

Buy, Sell, Hold: Trading for George Kittle, Screaming Into a Void Over TreVeyon Henderson

Time to buy Tetairoa McMillan, sell Romeo Doubs, and dip your head into a sink full of ice water and scream as loudly as you can over TreVeyon Henderson.

"How many points did George Kittle score for me?" my husband asked bright-eyed on Monday morning, following Kittle's epic return from injury. And as any good wife would, I did the math. I carried the 1. I double checked my equation.

"Zero points. None. Not a single catch."

The expletives that subsequently flowed from his mouth gave me hope. Hope that maybe, just maybe, after five weeks on his bench and 1 week of laying a goose egg in his line up, Kittle managers just might be willing to part ways for something more "sure" or less "injury prone."

On that note...

BUY

George Kittle, TE, 49ers

Kittle's next three matchups( HOU, NYG, LAR) are some of the toughest against TEs in the league. Which isn’t great.

But that sounds like discount material to me.

I'm blaming Kyle Shanahan for Week 7, not George Kittle. Plus, it's National Tight End Day on Sunday, baby!

Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Panthers

McMillan is like one of those exciting 'boom or bust' guys, except his booms are small and his busts are never goose eggs. He’s riiiight on the edge of finding safer floors and higher ceilings.

McMillan is seeing 31% of the team's end zone targets this season (40% across the last three weeks). With 25% of the team's target share and Andy Dalton starting in lieu of Bryce Young's high-ankle sprain, we could see a slight upgrade for McMillan. And he’s locked in for WR1 upside if(!) his QB can ever find him in the end zone.

While Carolina does have some tougher matchups for WRs coming in the immediate future, McMillan's fantasy playoff stretch is looking WR-friendly before and after their Bye (LAR, NO, TB, SEA).

Breece Hall, RB, Jets

Turns out the guy to roster in New York is … Nick Folk??

Breece Hall still hasn't scored a single f*cking touchdown through seven weeks. But it's not his fault — the Jets haven’t scored a TD in weeks.

The Jets are just… bad. (I take time out of my day at least once a week to remind Fantasy Life's CEO, Eliot Crist, just how bad his favorite team is.)

But with rumors of a Breece Hall trade looming, it's worth taking a shot on Hall. He has still managed a few decent fantasy outings this season (thanks to his pass catching abilities) despite the dumpster fire of an offense that he's working within:

  • Week 1: RB9
  • Week 4: RB19
  • Week 5: RB13

To the Utilization Report we go! You can see Hall is at least getting the bulk of the work out of the backfield. So... that's good?

Come on, New York. Let Hall take a Jet out of here and land somewhere … anywhere… else.

Other Buys:

  • TE Oronde Gadsden II
  • WR Travis Hunter
  • QB Jaxon Dart

SELL

Romeo Doubs, WR, Packers

Romeo Doubs' three-week string of fun defensive matchups are nearing their end after they face the Steelers this week. But he hasn't had the "extreme" upside we hoped to see.

  • Week 6: 5-55-0 (WR33)
  • Week 7: 6-72-0 (WR27)
  • Week 8: ??

Even with Doubs being "on pace for a career target share", he's only been able to produce mediocre-ish fantasy points against matchups that should have been WR friendly.

Aside from his 6-58-3 outlier against DAL in Week 4, Doubs hasn't scored more than 10.3 fantasy points all season. In fact, he's produced single-digit FPPG in 50% of his games.

Looking ahead, Doubs has a rollercoaster of WR-friendly and WR-evil matchups. To put it simply: Some are fantastic, while others are straight sh*t.

Week 8: Steelers 📈

  • 5th most FPPG to WRs
  • The most yards to WRs
  • The most rec to WRs

Week 9: Panthers 📉

  • 3rd fewest FPPG to WRs
  • 3rd fewest yards to WRs
  • 3rd fewest rec to WRs

Week 11: Giants📈

  • 3rd most FPPG to WRs
  • 2nd most yards to WRs
  • 3rd most rec to WRs

Week 12: Vikings📉

  • 4th fewest FPPG to WRs
  • 7th fewest yards to WRs
  • Fewest rec to WRs

Week 15: Broncos 📉

  • Fewest FPPG to WRs
  • 4th fewest yards to WRs

You need to heavily assess your ability to handle the volatility that comes with rostering Doubs. I’m selling. No one wants a floor guy when they're trying to make the playoffs.

Hold

Blake Corum, RB, Rams

What we're not going to do is overreact to Corum's usage from Week 7. The Rams were throwing Corum into the mix a lot more once they were blowing JAX out of the water in the second half.

  • 1st half carries: Williams 7 / Corum 2
  • 2nd half carries: Corum 10 / Williams 5

While Corum's 12 carries were a season high and he split 50% of the teams' total carries with Kyren Williams on the day, we can't forget the context.

Butttttt with that being said, game-script dependent or not, he's still worth stashing.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Pats

The schedule toughens for Stevenson, but he’s the main guy in this backfield whether we like it or not. We can't keep begging Mike Vrabel to make TreVeyon Henderson happen.

First, we convinced ourselves that rookies need some time. Then, after some time, Antonio Gibson saw 25-30% of the team's rushing attempts. Then, after Gibson’s injury, we spent Week 7 watching Terrell Jennings take over 19% of the rushing attempts in New England (Henderson 8%).

And through all of it, Stevenson’s usage has remained strong. Even with his fumbling issues, he’s continued to see carries in the red zone.

Say it with me: It's Stevenson's world and we're just f*cking living in it.

Scream Into An Empty Abyss

RB TreVeyon Henderson

Read above. You likely can't sell for anything at this point and have to hold. Have you considered screaming into an empty abyss?
