Adopting a site-specific fantasy football draft strategy is important because every site has nuances that need to be taken into account. ESPN fantasy football is the perfect example ...

  • Format: PPR, 16 roster spots + 1 Injured Reserve (IR)
  • Starters: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX

For ESPN, I used ADP rank rather than pure ADP, because the teams I was able to build just didn't feel realistic. For example: Tucker Kraft ranks 84th, but his ADP is 92. Parker Washington ranks 82nd, but his ADP is 90.

Are your leaguemates really going to allow that to happen? This is a sober-minded view that should have you prepped for a stronger draft room. But if you notice players falling to these ADPs, you can adjust and build an insane team.

The great news is you can use our Draft Companion during your draft for ESPN. It will provide pick recommendations. And you can use our consensus ranks or your favorite Fantasy Life rankers.

And ahead of the draft, you can prep with our Mock Draft Simulator: Draft Champion. You can play all of these scenarios out for yourself.

ESPN Fantasy Football Mock Draft From Early Position (Picks 1-4)

The ADP on ESPN has tightened significantly since two weeks ago—especially in Round 2 at the RB position:

But ESPN drafters have become skittish about Kenneth Walker and Ashton Jeanty, who are sliding towards the 2-3 turn. Jeanty is down on each platform, but Walker is climbing on Sleeper and Yahoo. All of that to say, we need some luck for an RB-RB start on ESPN.

The WR value has also tightened in the middle rounds, but not enough—we can still execute on an RB-RB strategy and come back for quality WRs in R3-6.

ESPN Fantasy Mock Draft From Late Position (Picks 9-12)

I am not a fan of Zero RB from late position. There are just too many great RB-RB combos in that range, and that is where we get value. So I pivoted to a second Hero build, waiting on QB until late. I will also take a third RB on the Super Hero squad this time:
