Kendall's Key Questions for Week 9

Rob - West Virginia: Start/sit question… Woody Marks or Breece Hall?

We finally have Breece Hall back this weekend, but the biggest question for fantasy managers is going to be to what extent? Braelon Allen has had the backfield to himself and has looked incredible in the role—he's 10th in rushing yards (565) and tied for fifth in yards after contact (2.64 per carry). According to ESPN, since Allen replaced Hall in Week 4, Allen has produced more rushing yards than the best five-game stretch in Hall's career (504 to 409).

Aaron Glenn has made it clear in recent press conferences that Hall is the starter, saying, "We're in the business of keeping good players, and he's one of our better players. So Breece will still be here."

In this situation, I would start Woody Marks ahead of Hall, only because we actually know how that backfield is going to look without David Montgomery for another week. Listen, it's gross with Marks because he hasn't done much with the opportunities he's been given and is only averaging 9.6 fantasy points per game, but it just feels safer. Once we get a clearer picture on Sunday of what this split is going to be between Hall and Allen, then we will know how to rank them moving forward.

Paul - NY: Love the show! Need a little help. 1/2 ppr, need 1 for the flex: Ryan Flournoy, Dylan Sampson, Makai Lemon, Jordan Mason, Josh Downs or KC Concepcion?

I'm going to roll with KC Concepcion in this one. I think it's close between Flournoy and Lemon. The Browns are going to roll out Shedeur Sanders this weekend with Deshaun Watson in concussion protocol, but Concepcion has been solid this season. He has averaged 8.7 fantasy points per game in his rookie season and should get the opportunities this weekend, which puts him in a solid flex spot.

Flournoy is more interesting if we get news that George Pickens won't play, but it looks like he should be good to go. The Vikings' running backs are an absolute mess right now. We thought Mason would be in a decent spot after coming off IR, but it was a three-man committee last weekend (YUCK). Mason led in attempts (50%), and Aaron Jones led in routes (30%) and targets (7%).

Tommy - FL:  Egbuka or DeMario Douglas?

Emeka Egbuka is my choice, but it's less than ideal. Baker Mayfield can't keep getting away with this … right?! Over the past two weeks, the Buccaneers have called 16 pass plays and 104 run plays. They absolutely cannot do that this weekend against the Bears. I think that Egbuka is the only pass catcher you can realistically start for the Buccaneers right now, and even then I'm worried since we haven't seen much of Mayfield these past two weeks.

Fantasy Life has Egbuka projected for 53 receiving yards off five receptions.

David - Vegas: Is Mike Washington startable?

If you can avoid starting Mike Washington, I would. Right now he is Fantasy Life's RB38 and looks to have a split backfield with Ashton Jeanty, but we weren't overly excited about what he did with the opportunities last weekend. Washington held down all six of the team’s goal-line rush attempts in Week 8, but finished with 8.3 fantasy points (2 points fewer than Jeanty).

He has an expanding role, but this weekend feels more like a Jeanty game because of his work in the passing game. Washington still holds value, but I think you'll have better starting RB options.
