Kenyon Sadiq Fantasy Football Impact With New York Jets

Kody Malstrom analyzes the Kenyon Sadiq fantasy football impact after he was selected at No. 16 by the New York Jets in the NFL Draft.

Heading into the offseason, Kenyon Sadiq was already regarded as the TE1 in this year’s draft class. After the combine, Sadiq cemented himself as the surefire first TE to come off the board, breaking the 40-yard dash record for his position (4.39 seconds) while jumping out of the gym at the NFL Scouting Combine. With Sadiq far from a finished product, his ceiling is unknown with the New York Jets, making him an intriguing prospect for fantasy.

Kenyon Sadiq Fantasy Football Stock/Outlook With The New York Jets

With Sadiq going to the New York Jets, he gives them a versatile chess piece who can line up out wide or move into the middle. While his size handicaps his ability to combat against clogged front sevens, Sadiq can counter slow-moving bodies in the middle by using his blistering-fast speed to create space, widening the width of Geno Smith’s passing lanes on the outside while pulling defensive attention away from Garrett Wilson.

In regard to his outlook, it will come down to his time on the field. While his athleticism is certainly not in question, his small frame makes him a liability as a blocker in run sets and his drop rate is less than ideal on non-contested catches. If Sadiq is unable to address them, he may find himself falling down the depth chart, handicapping how much he can contribute in fantasy in his rookie year.

Luckily for Sadiq, his athleticism will help brush aside regression if the Jets are able to use him in creative ways, leading to a respectable output that makes him worth a late add. That's especially true in dynasty leagues where the TE position is volatile, giving him the ability to rival the top of the board early on in his career if he can find his footing in their underwhelming offense.

Should You Plan to Draft Kenyon Sadiq this year?

In a top-heavy position, Sadiq finds himself in a logjam down the board, hovering around the middle of the third tier with the likes of Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, Dallas Goedert per Matthew Freedman and Dwain McFarland. Ian Hartiz is a little more bearish on the former Oregon TE, projecting him at 22, putting him more in line with T.J. Hockenson and AJ Barner.

In re-draft leagues, if you miss out on the top of the board, take a more proven commodity with Sadiq’s role in the offense uncertain due to his smaller build. If you are in a dynasty league and are riding a veteran TE, consider using a late first-round pick on Sadiq with hopes of your current TE being able to maintain his high level of play while Sadiq needs time to develop.

2026 Scouting Report For Kenyon Sadiq

While it’s no secret how great of an athlete Sadiq is after his stellar combine, what is more shocking is how little of a role he played during his time at Oregon for a majority of his collegiate career. Before securing a full-time role in his final year, Sadiq was on the back burner, playing behind Terrance Ferguson and Traeshon Holden, who was a UDFA, handicapping his level of production per our Rookie Super Model.

When elevated into the starting role, Sadiq was able to blossom, finishing his 2025 campaign with 51 receptions for 560 yards and 8 touchdowns. His high level of play helped him win the Big Ten Conference TE of the Year award while also securing First Team All-Big Ten and Second Team All-American honors.

At the next level, his size will be under a microscope with his “tweener” build making it hard for him to carve out a role in an offense. Expect Sadiq to see an uptick in his usage rate out wide, maximizing his blistering-fast speed to punish stretched-out linebacking units when he screens through the middle.
