Matthew Berry runs through the 10 most important facts to know before you set your Week 2 fantasy football lineups.

I want to dive right into it, but, of course, before I do, I have some promotion to do because, whatever, I’m a company man.

This year, I’m doing a Sunday morning show with my fellow Fantasy Lifer Alex Cupps, live from Noon ET to kickoff. We’ll discuss the biggest questions, injury updates and most importantly … YOUR questions. It’s an active chat where we get to as many questions as we can. It’s on my personal YouTube channel, and would like it if you’d check it out on Sunday or honestly any day. Please like and subscribe, as the kids say.

As a reminder, you can get access to everything we have to offer at Fantasy Life with a FantasyLife+ subscription. That means my rankings—completely customized to fit YOUR leagues—projections, league sync, our waiver wire tool, Dwain McFarland's world-renowned Utilization Report, our start/sit tool and much, much more. Your league is unique, so we made sure your advice is, too. Plus, you can get 10% off with code BERRY.

Let’s get to it. Here are the 10 Facts You Need to Know Before Week 2, brought to you by our good friends at Xfinity.

10 Facts For Fantasy Football Week 2

  1. Since taking over as the starter in Week 4 of last season, Jaxson Dart is the QB4 in PPG.
    1. He’s scored at least 19 fantasy points in 10 of his 12 full games.
    2. He’s had Malik Nabers on the field with him in only 2 of those games.

  2. In Week 1, 34% of Aaron Rodgers’ pass attempts traveled 15+ air yards.
    1. Not only was that his highest rate in any game since joining the Steelers, but it was also the first time that number even reached 25%.
    2. Not a fact, because it didn’t actually lead to all that much in Week 1, but if this continues, it will significantly change the outlook for DK Metcalf this season.

  3. In his first game with the Chiefs, Kenneth Walker saw a 24% target share.
    1. That was tied for the team lead.
    2. It was also the second-highest target share of his career.
    3. As long as he stays healthy, Walker is going to have an absolutely massive season. As I said all preseason, I’m not saying it’s likely, but RB1 overall in fantasy football is within the range of outcomes here.

  4. In his first game under Klint Kubiak, Ashton Jeanty had a Utilization Score of 99.
    1. The only RB with a higher Utilization Score in Week 1 was … Bijan Robinson.
    2. I’m starting to think we may have all overreacted to Jeanty’s injury scare …

  5. In his first game sharing a backfield with Kenneth Gainwell, Bucky Irving saw a career-high 26% target share.
    1. He also ran 8 more routes than Gainwell.
    2. And saw both RB red-zone touches.

  6. Jalen Coker has had 9 career games where he has gotten at least a 20% target share.
    1. In those games, he averages over 17 PPG.
    2. Coker has reached that 20% target share number in 5 of the last 7 games he’s played.
    3. Oh, and when I had Adam Thielen on Fantasy Football Happy Hour prior to the start of the season, Thielen raved about Coker, saying he thought Coker was the best wide receiver on the team, and said he didn’t have any weaknesses in his game.

  7. In Week 1, Matthew Golden led the Packers in both target share (30%) and route participation (87%).
    1. The Packers won’t have 42 pass attempts in most games, but his usage was significantly better than what we saw from Jayden Reed.
    2. Golden is the WR2 you want in Green Bay.
    3. And might be the WR1A (I’m still a huge Christian Watson believer).

  8. In Week 1, no tight end had a higher route participation than Colston Loveland’s 89%.
    1. Look, I get it. He scored 0 points and saw only 2 targets in a game in which the Bears offense scored 59 points.
    2. Incredibly frustrating to watch.
    3. But if Caleb doesn’t miss him on 2 throws, including one in the end zone, his stat line would look completely normal.
    4. If somebody in your league is freaking out over this one game and wants to sell Loveland, run to make that deal while you still can.
    5. I realize most of these aren’t facts, even using the very loose definition I use for this column, but whatever. Loveland has me on tilt lol.

  9. Dalton Kincaid’s 69% route participation in Week 1 was higher than in any game he played last season.
    1. 69%. Heh.
    2. Kincaid’s 77% snap rate in Week 1 was his highest since Week 9 of 2024.
    3. Kincaid has always been one of the most efficient tight ends on a per-target basis, so if this increased role is any indication that he’s finally fully healthy, he could be headed for a breakout season.

  10. Harold Fannin’s 14% target share in Week 1 was his lowest in a completed game since Week 5 of last season.
    1. His 21 receiving yards were the second-fewest in a game in his career.
    2. It won’t always be this bad (Probably! Hopefully!), but like I said all offseason, KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston are going to present far more target competition than Fannin had to deal with last season.
    3. And Deshaun Watson under center isn’t helping either.
