Odell Beckham Signs With Giants: A Big Pile Of Fantasy Football Nothing
Odell Beckham is returning to the Giants, but is it even worth our attention in fantasy football ahead of the 2026 season?
We're turning back the clock on this Monday morning, as it's been reported that former Giants' All-Pro WR Odell Beckham is returning to the team, per Ian Rapoport.
It's been a while since we anything that remotely resembles fantasy-relevant production from Beckham, but with the lack of depth at the WR position and with Malik Nabers rehabbing his knee injury, could there be some late-career upside for Beckham in fantasy football with the Giants?
Odell Beckham Jr. Re-Signs With NY Giants
A New York Giants legend, regardless of whether Beckham is able to turn back the clock production-wise or not, this is a signing that should be welcomed by Giants faithful. The 33-year-old rankings top-five in Giants history in receiving yards (5,472, 2nd), receptions (390, 2nd) and receiving touchdowns (44, 4th).
Having last played with the Dolphins in 2024, the last time we saw Beckham, he only accounted for 30% of the routes in 9 games played, with a 6% target share (17% TPRR) and a measly 1.8 PPR points per game.
It's fair to question whether his signing is even worth paying attention to for fantasy football. Given the lack of depth at the position while Nabers rehabs from his catostrophic 2025 knee injury, we may be looking at Beckham playing far more snaps than we last saw in 2024.
2026 Fantasy Football Outlook For Odell Beckham Jr.
Prior to 2024, Beckham played during the 2023 season with the Ravens and the 2021 season with the Rams, as he missed 2022 following a torn ACL in the Rams Super Bowl victory.
In those two seasons, he posted the following metrics:
| *reg season | 2021 (Rams) | 2023 (Ravens) |
|---|---|---|
| Games | 14 | 14 |
| Routes | 79% | 59% |
| TPRR | 19% | 21% |
| Targets | 18% | 16% |
| Utilization Score | 53 | 44 |
| PPR/Game | 9.2 (WR49) | 7.7 (WR63) |
Exciting numbers? Far from them. Serviceable? We can't really say no to that! Granted, the last time we saw him post anything close to that was three seasons ago at this point and at 33 years old, it's hard to imagine Beckham presents any sort of mismatch for defenders at this point in his career.
This feels like a two-pronged signing for the Giants—getting a franchise legend back in the building for what increasingly feels like the last season he'll take the field, and a short-term depth add while Malik Nabers rehabs his knee.
He'll likely slide behind Darnell Mooney and Darius Slayton, at the least, on the depth chart. It feels like an uphill battle for him to beat out either Calvin Austin or Malachi Fields, too. With that being the case, it's hard to envision Beckham as anything more than a rotational piece in a low-upside wide receiver room.Â
Beckham is currently unranked in our consensus fantasy football rankings and should be viewed as nothing more than a last-round dart at his next-to-nothing fantasy football ADP. He shouldn't sniff your radar in redraft formats this summer.
