Welcome to the 2026 season. It’s stream life here at Fantasy Life, and this space will be where we go over the streaming options at different positions. If you’re feeling uneasy about your starting QB option—join the Falcons—here are three options as backup QBs who can slot in this week. They are outside the top 12 of our fantasy football projections. And while you’re at it, check out our fantasy football rankings.

Fantasy Football Week 1 Quarterback Streamers

Tyler Shough | Saints at Lions

The Year 2 QB is one of the sleepers for the 2026 season. Tyler Shough’s finish in the final nine games of the season was more than enough to warrant him getting the starting job, as he passed for 250.7 yards per game. He even surpassed 300 yards twice in the final three contests.

On the other side are the Lions, who allowed 231.4 passing yards on average last season. The secondary remains in flux, and Jared Goff at home is regularly prolific. He averaged 279.4 passing yards and connected on 18 TDs in eight games. Our Game Model projects this as a 49-point game, so Shough would have to put up some points to keep up with his counterpart.

Baker Mayfield | Buccaneers at Bengals

The Baker Mayfield contract assault begins this Sunday in Cincinnati. Can you say shootout? This game will have footballs flying in every direction. Here we have two defenses that both allowed on average more than 240 passing yards to the opposition.

Joe Burrow is on one side, healthy and with two studs WRs in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Mayfield will be accompanied by Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin. Just alert the air traffic controllers that the flying objects hovering over Paycor Stadium are just footballs being heaved by Mayfield and Burrow. This is a 50-point game in our model, and Mayfield’s projections of 247.3 passing yards and 1.4 TDs may be low.

Malik Willis | Dolphins at Raiders

We don’t know what the Malik Willis experience is going to be, but the matchup against the Raiders is tasty. Indoors, facing the Las Vegas defense that still has Maxx Crosby, but also has plenty of new faces. The Raiders allowed 211.6 passing yards and 17.7 fantasy points per game.

Our Game Model has the Raiders winning 22-20 in a battle of two teams that could be battling for the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft next April. Figure this game to see some points scored, and whenever Miami scores Willis will have to be involved.
