Early 2027 NFL Mock Draft: Arch Manning Leads Loaded QB Class

With a third of the CFB season in the books, it’s time to whip up a mock draft. This month’s edition features a new name at 1.01 with plenty of contenders nipping at his heels, creating an exciting race to see who will be selected with the first overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Note: Draft order is based on the reverse order of the latest Super Bowl odds.

Early 2027 NFL Mock Draft - September

1.01 Dolphins - Arch Manning (QB, Texas)

Dante Moore’s slow start to the year has helped Arch Manning pull away on the oddsboard to be the first overall pick in next year’s draft.

1.02 Titans - Colin Simmons (EDGE, Texas)

Until it is reported that Cam Ward is on the hot seat, the Tennessee Titans will use the 1.02 pick on Colin Simmons, who is arguably the best player at a key position.

1.03 Cardinals - CJ Carr (QB, Notre Dame)

Rivaling Manning at the top of the oddsboard is CJ Carr, Notre Dame’s star QB who has led the Fighting Irish to top-25 marks in offensive success rate, explosiveness and in finishing drives.

1.04 Browns - Dante Moore (QB, Oregon)

Moore’s slide stops at 1.04 with the Cleveland Browns in desperate need of a QB.

1.05 Jets - Darian Mensah (QB, Miami)

Like Carr, Darian Mensah has also been able to rise up the draft boards after a hot start to the year with no intentions of slowing down.

1.06 Falcons - Trevor Goosby (OT, Texas)

With Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix locked into a QB battle, the Atlanta Falcons will use the 1.06 pick to protect them by selecting Trevor Goosby to anchor the line.

1.07 Raiders - Jeremiah Smith (WR, Ohio State)

Due to positional need, the Las Vegas Raiders hit the lottery by halting Jeremiah Smith’s fall down the board, giving them a generational talent at WR.

1.08 Panthers - Leonard Moore (CB, Notre Dame)

With the Carolina Panthers' back end ranking below league average in dropback success rate, Leonard Moore immediately stands out, a lockdown CB who can neutralize one side of the field.

1.09 Saints - Dylan Stewart (EDGE, South Carolina)

With Cameron Jordan nearing the end of his career, the New Orleans Saints will need to fill the void at EDGE, leading to Dylan Stewart, a disruptive force in the trenches.

1.10 Commanders - Cam Coleman (WR, Texas)

Unless the Washington Commanders extend Stefon Diggs, they will need to find a WR2 to help pull defensive attention away from Terry McLaurin, making Cam Coleman the pick at 1.10.

1.11 Jets (via Colts) - David Stone (DT, Oklahoma)

After using the first pick on a QB, the New York Jets will address the pass rush and use the 1.11 pick on David Stone to beef up the defensive line.

1.12 Steelers - Trinidad Chambliss (QB, Ole Miss)

Another riser up the draft boards, Trinidad Chambliss is making a strong case for being a top-10 pick, giving the Pittsburgh Steelers an elite dual-threat QB to help elevate the offense.

1.13 Chargers - Jordan Seaton (OT, LSU)

With multiple question marks looming over the Los Angeles Chargers offensive line, they will select Jordan Seaton who can be plugged in the inside or kick out to tackle.

1.14 Giants - Charlie Becker (WR, Indiana)

To help complement Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely, the New York Giants select Charlie Becker, giving Jaxson Dart another weapon at his disposal.

1.15 Bears - Will Echoles (DT, Ole Miss)

The Chicago Bears have glaring holes all over the defense, making Will Echoles the pick who is the best available defensive lineman at 1.15.

1.16 Vikings - Ellis Robinson IV (CB, Georgia)

A physical CB who is just as productive in coverage as he is in his efforts of stopping the run, making Ellis Robinson IV an intriguing fit in Brian Flores' system.

1.17 Jets (via Cowboys) - KJ Bolden (S, Georgia)

Rounding out the trio of picks in the first round, the Jets address another position of need by selecting KJ Bolden, a ballhawk on the back end.

1.18 Jaguars - A’Mauri Washington (DT, Oregon)

With the Jacksonville Jaguars ranking outside the top 15 in defensive rush EPA and in success rate, they will add more firepower in the trenches by drafting A’Mauri Washington.

1.19 Buccaneers - Trey’Dez Green (TE, LSU)

The departure of Mike Evans and injury concerns at WR will turn the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' sights toward the pass attack, drafting Trey’Dez Green to give Baker Mayfield a versatile weapon at TE.

1.20 Cowboys (via Packers) - Ryan Coleman-Williams (WR, Alabama)

To avoid paying a hefty price on a WR2, the Dallas Cowboys will look to replace George Pickens with Ryan Coleman-Williams, a multi-tool WR to help pull defensive attention away from CeeDee Lamb.

1.21 Texans - Greg Johnson (OG, Minnesota)

Even after re-tooling the offensive line last year, the Houston Texans still need help in the interior, resulting in a reach for Greg Johnson.

1.22 Patriots - Tae Johnson (S, Notre Dame)

After locking up Christian Gonzalez, the New England Patriots will beef up the secondary by selecting Tae Johnson, a safety who can be used in multiple positions on the back end.

1.23 Broncos - Justin Scott (DT, Miami)

The Denver Broncos' front seven have taken a step back in regard to stuffing the run, making Justin Scott the pick at 1.23 to help plug up the running lanes in the trenches.

1.24 Lions - Ashton Hampton (CB, Clemson)

Two games into the year and the Detroit Lions secondary may be the worst positional group in the league, making Ashton Hampton the pick to help turn the defense into a more well-rounded unit.

1.25 Bengals - Kelley Jones (CB, Mississippi State)

With Hampton gone, Kelley Jones is the next best available player at the position in this range, making the Mississippi State CB the pick to help bolster the Cincinnati Bengals secondary.

1.26 Eagles - Trevor Lauck (OT, Iowa)

At some point the Philadelphia Eagles will need to find Lane Johnson’s replacement, using the 1.26 pick on Trevor Lauck to groom him until he is ready to take the reins.

1.27 Chiefs - Jamari Johnson (TE, Oregon)

With Travis Kelce on the verge of retirement, Jamari Johnson will be able to fill the void at TE, giving the Kansas City Chiefs another downfield threat.

1.28 49ers - Sammy Brown (LB, Clemson)

Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw’s history of injuries will make it vital the San Francisco 49ers find a replacement at LB, making Sammy Brown the pick who is the top player at the position.

1.29 Seahawks - Yhonzae Pierre (EDGE, Alabama)

Seattle’s lack of depth at EDGE will need to be addressed at some point, making Yhonzae Pierre a great addition to an already-dominant defense.

1.30 Ravens - Jadan Baugh (RB, Florida)

Barring a sudden positional need, the Baltimore Ravens can use a first-round pick on Jadan Baugh to help ease Derrick Henry’s workload while in the twilight years of his career.

1.31 Bills - Kade Pieper (OG, Iowa)

The Buffalo Bills are dangerously thin at iOL while loaded with talent everywhere else, making a reach for Kade Pieper worth it.

1.32 Browns (via Rams) - Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (LB, Notre Dame)

With Jared Verse anchoring the defensive line, the Cleveland Browns will target the back half of the front seven, plugging in Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa to help elevate the defense.
