Week 3 College Football Parlays: Texas A&M and More
Looking to get in on the NCAA football action this weekend? Kody Malstrom shares his three favorite college football parlays heading into Week 3 of the season.
With conference play getting underway, there are plenty of exciting games to help build our parlays, including a matchup between Texas A&M—fresh off an embarrassing second half against Alabama—and Kentucky. To cap off the portfolio, we pair two underdogs that have exceeded expectations this season, creating a juicy two-team moneyline parlay to round out the card.
College Football Parlays for Week 3
Reminder: when placing a wager on a parlay, every leg must cash or else the bet as a whole will be graded as a loss.
Texas A&M -16.5/Florida ML (+260, theScore Bet)
After an embarrassing performance in the playoffs, Texas A&M has been able to get back off the mat, routing its first two opponents to a combined score of 98-20. The Aggies' high level of play on defense has helped fuel a hot start to the year, fielding a group that ranks in the top 20 in defensive success rate, finishing drives, and havoc.
Heading into a matchup against Kentucky, the Aggies will be able to continue to create disruptions at a high rate by taking advantage of an offense that ranks 105th in havoc allowed. By stalling out the Wildcats' offense, the Aggies will be spotted with generous field position, improving the probability of scoring to help cover the spread.
Like the Aggies, Florida has also been able to thrive on defense this season, ranking near the top of the board in defensive success rate, explosiveness, and havoc. With Byrum Brown struggling to find his footing at Auburn, the Gators will be able to force the former South Florida QB into making ill-advised throws while under pressure and hold the Tigers to early outs.
Georgia Alt -20.5/Virginia Alt -9.5 (+161, DraftKings)
Two games into the year and Arkansas fans are already fed up, announcing plans to wear paper bags over their heads for the matchup against Georgia. With how the Razorbacks defense has looked, it’s hard to blame them, desperately needing to shield their eyes from watching a group that ranks 131st in points per opportunity.
With Arkansas’s defense incapable of keeping Georgia out of the end zone, the Razorbacks will find themselves quickly behind on the scoreboard. To help keep Arkansas outside the numbers, the Bulldogs create hard stops at a high rate—entering the contest ranked 14th in defensive success rate—which will make it tough for the Razorbacks to methodically move the ball down the field,
Turning our attention toward another dominant defense, Virginia has excelled at keeping opponents out of scoring position, leading the league in points per opportunity and in explosiveness. With negative regression looming large over West Virginia’s offense, expect the Cavaliers to use their uptick of possessions on offense and steadily pull away on the scoreboard.
North Carolina ML/Mississippi State ML (+512, bet365)
Since the start of the regular season, Clemson has been abysmal, limping into Week 3 ranked near dead last in offensive EPA and havoc allowed. With North Carolina’s defense firing on all cylinders, the Tigers will continue to fail to get into scoring position, shading value toward the underdog.
While Clemson has underwhelmed on offense, South Carolina has struggled on defense, ranking in the bottom thirty in defensive explosiveness and in havoc. The Gamecocks' inability to generate pressure will allow Kamario Taylor to operate in a clean pocket while giving the Bulldogs' pass catchers more time in the open field to break away from their coverage, increasing the chances of staying ahead of the sticks.
