Geoff Ulrich identifies the Week 6 FanDuel NFL DFS Picks, pointing out stacks like Baker Mayfield and Emeka Egbuka and players like George Pickens.
With TNF over, it’s time to focus on the Sunday DFS slate for Week 6 and take a shot at some of the monster prize pools available across the DFS industry.
What are we looking at today?
Week 5 NFL DFS Picks for FanDuel GPPs and the Sunday Million
FanDuel awards bonuses now at 100+ yards (3 points passing/receiving/rushing), but their 0.5 PPR setting does make TDs more valuable and receptions less so—something to keep in mind.
The plays and salaries listed here will be specific to FanDuel and their salary cap contests.
However, since we’re also relying on the FantasyLife+ projections, tools and advice, the specific game matchups and correlations (aka, game stacks) are things you can apply to lineup building across the DFS industry.

Week 6 FanDuel GPP Contrarian Stack
Baker Mayfield (8200) with Emeka Egbuka (8100)/Rachaad White (6800)
- Pair with Jake Tongues (5600)
The Buccaneers' offense should be much more concentrated than normal this week. Bucky Irving (ankle), Chris Godwin (leg) and Mike Evans (hamstring) will all miss this game, giving both Rachaad White and Emeka Egbuka top billing in the offense. While both men expect to be reasonably popular, with primary targeting and carries expected for both, there is a great chance we’ll be cornering the market on all of the Tampa Bay TDs this weekend by including them in a three-man stack with Mayfield.
Matchup-wise, this could also be a spot where we see Tampa drop another 30+ points as well. The 49ers staved off the Rams last week, but needed a couple of fumbles from the Rams' RBs (one at the goal line) to win that game and keep Los Angeles under 30 points. They also gave up monster games to both Matthew Stafford (30-for-47, 389 yards, 3 TDs) and starting RB Kyren Williams (2 TDs, 8 receptions, 68 yards receiving). While it’s somewhat tempting to fade Egbuka vs. a tougher pass defense, the rookie has already gone off against numerous tough secondaries and has the hottest QB in the league right now throwing to him in Mayfield, who completed 87% of his passes for 389 yards and 2 TDs vs. another NFC West defense in Seattle.
It’s likely better to get contrarian on the 49ers' side of this stack by bypassing Christian McCaffrey, who has a reasonably tough matchup vs. the Tampa Bay defensive line that is healthy and allowing the 12th fewest FPPG to opposing RBs, for TE Jake Tonges. Tonges is coming off a career game where he saw 11 targets and caught 7 passes for 41 yards and a TD. His upside this week looks even better when you factor in the Buccaneers' banged-up secondary, which just allowed 7 receptions and 2 TDs last week to AJ Barner and has allowed 4 TDs to the position over the last two weeks.
Week 6 FanDuel “Big-Brain” Value Stack
Cam Ward (6400) and Calvin Ridley (5700), with Ashton Jeanty (8000)
- Pair with Tyjae Spears (5300)
Targeting the Titans in any kind of fantasy contest has been the very definition of insanity this season, but the team is coming off its first win, and QB Cam Ward had arguably his best day as a pro last week, throwing for 265 yards and 6.9 yards per attempt vs. the Cardinals, both of which are career highs. I’m not trying to make Ward out to be a world beater just yet, but he’s not looked terrible despite the Titans being unable to score, and he’ll have a shot at building on that decent game vs. a Raiders defense that ranks just 28th in EPA vs. the pass (via RBSDM.com) and are just 23rd in yards per pass attempt allowed to opposing QBs on the season.
Just like last week, Ward and Calvin Ridley, who had his best game of the season last week with 5 receptions and 131 yards on 10 targets, should find minimal resistance in this spot. With such low salaries, even one TD connection between Ward and his top WR could be enough to return decent value, but with the Raiders being the opponent, the chance for Ward or Ridley to hit for more than that makes them a legit GPP target for Week 6.
One final strategy note, if you’re playing in larger fields and for Ward to find his true ceiling, then looking for a cheap third play to triple stack him does have merit. Tyjae Spears is a great receiving back who has been getting lots of coachspeak of late, and certainly could be utilized to help counteract the tough Raiders rush defense this week. He’s an extremely high-variance play, but at 5300 he brings the effective cost of this Titans stack down a lot and could return value on just one or two plays.
Week 5 FanDuel Core Targets
1. George Pickens (7500)
- Pair with Dak Prescott (8000)
The Panthers have been regressing vs the pass of late and have allowed over 100 yards and over 16.0 yards per catch to each of the last two No. 1 WRs they’ve faced in Stefon Diggs and Jaylen Waddle. I expect Carolina may be more competitive than people think this week, given they are likely getting back Jalen Coker, which should bump George Pickens’ usage from last week, where he caught only two passes.
2. Marvin Harrison Jr. (6900)
- Stack with whoever starts at QB for Arizona
The Colts have faced a lot of weak opponents, but they gave up 375 yards passing to the Rams just two weeks ago. They also have weaker corners who got dusted for 170 yards and a TD by Puka Nacua in that game, and have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Add in the history with Harrison’s father and the Colts, and this could be a spot where the second-year player breaks out for a signature game. He’s under 7k on FanDuel, which is where I’d prefer to play him since he’s more of a downfield threat and doesn’t put up as many receptions as a typical WR1.
