Players To Trade For In Dynasty Fantasy Football: Tre Harris Is A Priority Target

Sam Wallace breaks down four trade targets to consider in your dynasty fantasy football leagues as we head into Week 5 of the season.

A quarter of the way through the season, you should have a rather clear picture of what direction your team is heading in this season in your dynasty leagues. That means it's time to look at players to trade for in dynasty fantasy football to see who can bolster a contender, cater to a rebuild, and more.

Trade Targets For Dynasty Fantasy Football Ahead Of Week 5

Tre Harris | WR | Chargers

I'll be very honest … I don't know what to do with this Chargers offense. On paper, factoring in both the coaching staff and the players, this team should have no problem moving the ball and scoring a ton of points.

To say that Justin Herbert has been a massive disappointment this season would be an understatement, and I never thought I would be writing those words. Through four weeks, Herbert has four TDs compared to six INTs. He also has a pair of games with fewer than 200 passing yards and has yet to top 230 passing yards this season.

Top target Ladd McConkey, attempting to battle through a foot injury, left Week 4 without a reception, and Quentin Johnston hasn't topped 45 receiving yards yet this year. That leaves Tre Harris, who I am once again interested in rostering in dynasty formats.

The second-year player struggled relative to Year 1 expectations in 2025, but he's already a few good weeks away from beating his rookie numbers. He has 50+ receiving yards in three straight weeks and has quietly become one of the more consistent options for Herbert in the passing game.

I'd love to believe that this stretch of games is an anomaly and not what we should expect of Herbert moving forward. We have six years of him being a top-tier NFL QB, and his talent has never been in doubt.

Snag Harris before the Chargers (finally) right the ship and start being fantasy viable once again.

Cyrus Allen | WR | Chiefs

After losing both Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Tyquan Thornton (ankle) in Week 4, the Kansas City Chiefs head into their bye week with some significant question marks at the receiver position. While calls have already been made to Tyreek Hill, via his agent, there's another option that's A) already on the team and B) garnered a ton of preseason hype.

Somewhat inexplicably, Cyrus Allen has been virtually non-existent through four weeks. He has just two targets and has yet to register his first NFL reception. While it makes sense on one hand (the Chiefs have had Rice, Thornton, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce), I'm surprised there haven't been some manufactured opportunities for the talented rookie.

The 5th-round pick out of Cincinnati was the focal point of much offseason hype, and it really sounded like the Chiefs had a plan to make Allen a key component of their offseason this season. Now that both Rice (for an undetermined length of time) and Thornton (likely the rest of the season) are on the sidelines, this could be the opportunity Allen has been waiting for.

Allen is going to be a popular waiver target this week anyways but he still makes for an intriguing dynasty trade target as the Chiefs are on bye in Week 5.

Khalil Shakir | WR | Bills

The Buffalo Bills made a big splash when they signed DJ Moore this offseason, giving Josh Allen a legit No. 1 option in the passing game. Unfortunately, Moore reaggravated a shoulder injury in Week 4 that he's been dealing with for a few weeks now.

With additional eyes on the resurgence of third-year wideout Keon Coleman, I'm maintaining my focus on Khalil Shakir.

Very quietly, Shakir has finished as a low-end WR3 in each of the last two seasons. While he's only topped 800 receiving yards once in his career and has never scored more than four TDs in a single season, I still think there's value to be had in your dynasty formats. He is currently in the midst of a four-year/$53-million deal that runs through 2029. That alone gives me some level of confidence that he'll remain a key part of this offense moving forward.

Shakir has 6+ targets in three of four games this season, quietly becoming one of the more consistent elements of this Bills offense. We've seen Dalton Kincaid go nuclear, but he's now fallen flat in consecutive weeks. If Moore's injury continues to be an issue this season, look for Allen to go to his trusted veteran more often than not in the weeks to come.

The Bills are on bye coming up in Week 7, but there's plenty of reasons to add Shakir to your dynasty fantasy football roster as soon as possible.

Mike Gesicki | TE | Bengals

For years, the Bengals have had one of the most exciting, explosive passing attacks in the league with Joe Burrow at the helm. Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have been arguably one of the best duos in all of football. That said, from time to time, opportunities have risen for others to step up.

With both Chase (concussion) and Higgins (abductor) leaving their Week 4 matchup early, many will likely flock to rookie wideout Dohnte Meyers this week and next. I certainly don't mind that approach, especially if you are looking for a solid dynasty stash.

However, if you are specifically looking for a potential stopgap at a much more scarce position, don't look any farther than veteran TE Mike Gesicki.

Perhaps very quietly, Gesicki has scored in three of four games this season. If you don't have one of the top-tier "set it and forget it" TEs, you're likely either hoping your late-round pick pays off or you're streaming the position. That's where someone like Gesicki comes in.

He's a trusted veteran with an elite QB who leads a top-end offense. Those are the types of opportunities you want to target when looking to shore up your TE position, where scoring a TD could make or break your week.

Keep in mind, the Bengals do have a bye coming up in Week 6 following their Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. If either Chase or Higgins is close to returning but could use an extra week, don't be surprised if the Bengals are extra cautious with their top wideouts.
