Amid NFL Trade Rumors, Target Nicholas Singleton In Fantasy Football

Amid NFL Trade Rumors, Target Nicholas Singleton In Fantasy Football

In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Incogni.

While the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors stole the headlines earlier this week, he’s not the most likely RB to get traded.

Here’s what ESPN’s Dan Graziano recently said:

“I believe Tennessee's Tony Pollard is the more likely running back to be dealt, ahead of Taylor or Saquon Barkley, but if the Colts are in full rebuilding mode, you can't rule anything out.”

The price to acquire Pollard would certainly be less than the cost for Taylor, and he is also coming off his best game of the season—25 carries for 129 yards and 3 TDs.

Pollard is a 29-year-old RB in the final year of his deal and the Titans are 1-6, so it would make sense for Tennessee to cash out for whatever they can get.

Of course, what we really care about around here is the guy behind the guy.

Tyjae Spears—who missed Week 6—and Michael Carter (who filled in for Spears) are vaguely interesting (Spears should definitely be rostered), but if there’s a Seth McGowan in this offense it is the rookie Nicholas Singleton.

He’s been quiet this season, but would make sense to feature down the stretch while the team tanks for 2027 and fully commits to the youth movement.

If you read Monday’s newsletter and muttered to yourself that “McGowan isn’t available in MY league” then Singleton is a fine, speculative consolation stash ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

He isn’t the only Titan to acquire, either. There’s one you should trade for, too …

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation and identity theft. Week 8 Starts and Sits From Dwain McFarland

START: Jacoby Brissett | QB | Cardinals

Brissett hasn't recaptured the magic from 2025, when he finished as a top-12 QB in 9 of 12 starts, averaging 19.6 PPG. In 2026, he has averaged 16.2 PPG and finished top-12 in only 2 of 7 games.

But the last time we saw Brissett shine was Week 5, in a very similar situation to Week 8. He faced the Lions: bad defense + good offense. In Week 8, we get that same combination again against the Cowboys.

Dallas has sanctioned No. 7 QB boost (+2.2 PPG) and is the No. 5 offense (27 PPG). And really, the defense is far worse than that boost shows. Per SumerSports, the Cowboys rank 31st in pass-EPA (0.23) and 29th in pass success rate (50.4%).

The Cardinals are equally bad against the pass, ranking 30th in pass EPA (0.22). The conditions are ripe for a shootout. The Cowboys are 6.4-point favorites, but the Cardinals will move the ball. Arizona has a solid team total of 23.9 (11th).

Fantasy Projections

Brissett is the QB22 on the season, averaging 16.2 PPG. But he is my QB12 against the Cowboys in Week 8.

More Week 8 Fantasy QB Upgrades

  • Dak Prescott | Cowboys: I don't always call out QBs that are always in the top-12, but Prescott gets a shout this week: No. 1 team total (30.3), No. 3 QB matchup against the Cardinals (+5.4 PPG), No. 4 QB passing matchup (+3.8 PPG). Dak is my QB4.
  • Kyler Murray | Vikings: Minnesota's No. 1-ranked defense means their offense doesn't have to do much. But this week they face the Lions' No. 2 scoring offense (30.7 PPG). And Detroit grants the No. 2 boost to QBs (+6.3 PPG). Murray has averaged a tart 13.8 PPG in four healthy contests, but his legs have come to life with 30.8 rushing YPG. We just need a game script where the Vikings need to pass. The forecast: 16.8 points with an Xfinity Best ceiling of 22.3. Murray is a borderline QB1.
