Bijan Robinson Fantasy Football Outlook: Should He Be The 1.01 In 2025?
Sure, there are other options at the start of your draft.
Maybe you love Ja'Marr Chase and want to grab a high-end WR. I wouldn't blame you.
You could also chase the record-breaking season of Saquon Barkley and hope he doesn't slow down as a 28-year-old veteran RB.
And you'd certainly be justified in pursuing the tantalizing ceiling of Jahmyr Gibbs while simultaneously praying that David Montgomery doesn't steal 15 TDs from him.
Or, hear me out, you could simply have your ceiling cake and eat it too with the safety that Falcons RB Bijan Robinson provides in Round 1.
What Is Bijan Robinson's 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook?
Honestly, it's kind of bizarre to me that Bijan isn't the consensus 1.01 across all fantasy drafts right now. He checks every single box we care about as fantasy players …
Bell-Cow Workload? He's coming off a year where he totaled 1,887 scrimmage yards and 15 scores. His 365 touches were the second most across the entire NFL. In this current version of the NFL, these kinds of workloads are evaporating. Bijan's three-down workload represents a scarce, unicorn-like asset that we need to hoard when given the opportunity.
Offensive Environment? Atlanta's offensive line is legit (11th-ranked by PFF in 2024), and they have a young QB in Michael Penix who proved he can play as a rookie. Thanks to the firepower on offense (I'm not even including Kyle Pitts, I promise!), we know that there will be plenty of red-zone trips and opportunities for TDs.
Age? He racked up all of that production in 2024 as a 22-year-old and turned 23 in January. The dude is clearly in his prime and does not come with the same tire/tread risk that some of the other top RBs share.
Resume? Over the last 10 years only eight RBs have surpassed 3,000 total yards and 20 TDs in their first two seasons:
Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, David Johnson, Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs, Ezekiel Elliott, and … Bijan Robinson. Shoutout to our Ian Hartitz for uncovering that juicy nugget.
Robinson is clearly pacing to be one of the best RBs in the modern era.
Downside? Most detractors who are scared to spend a top-three pick on Bijan will point to the presence of Tyler Allgeier as a roadblock. Allgeier is certainly no slouch–he racked up 150 touches of his own in 2024 and bogarted three rushing TDs.
But Bijan's 2024 stats should assuage any of these concerns. There is clearly room for both Bijan to return 1.01 overall value and for Allgeier to enjoy some standalone value as a complementary piece and breather back. And if you are into the handcuffing thing—everyone has their own kinks!—then you could certainly ensure a Bijan selection with a late-round Allgeier click.
TLDR: It's rare that fantasy drafters are presented with a discounted option in Round 1 who possesses both a sky-high ceiling and a solid floor. Maybe Bijan doesn't have quite the upside that peak CMC offered at the 1.01, but it's pretty damn close.
Let your leaguemates get overly fancy in the first round and chase the shinier objects while you make the prudent selection.
Bijan Robinson is the cornerstone piece to 2025 fantasy success.
