Buy, Sell, Hold for Fantasy Football Week 5: Bhayshul Tuten on the Rise
Cooterdoodle breaks down players to buy, sell and hold in fantasy football leagues ahead of Week 5, including Bhayshul Tuten and Marvin Harrison Jr.
This has been the least predictable season yet, right?
Right?
Let’s move into Buy, Sell, Hold for Week 5. But first:
REMEMBER: NO ADVICE IS HELPFUL WITHOUT CONTEXT
- You know your league's scoring best.
- You know your roster best.
- You know what players are available on waivers best.
Consider all context when trading.
Here are some players to consider as Buys, Sells, and Holds moving into Week 5.
BUY: From Desperate Managers
Bhayshul Tuten | RB | JAX
The best part about Bhayshul Tuten having huge plays taken away in Week 4 is that your leaguemate who only watches the box score won’t realize that Tuten had:
- a 3-yard TD called back
- a 44-yard TD called back
Tuten saw 17 carries to Chris Rodriguez’s six in Week 4, and he played 57% of the snaps.
His fantasy points don’t show what us Tuten truthers already know: He’s the guy.
Elite Players from 0-4 Teams
I don’t want to sound like a shark circling the waters. But… CHOMP CHOMP.
Now is the perfect time to try and buy an elite player from your panicked leaguemate.
Check their roster. What’s their biggest strength? What are their biggest weaknesses? Who would you assume is “off limits”? THAT is your guy.
They don’t have the luxury of holding on to one good player if the rest of their team is falling apart.
Send them a package right this second.
SELL: Preseason Hype
Marvin Harrison Jr. (After Week 5)
I really want to sell after his first TD game, but Week 5 is a juicy matchup for Arizona against the Lions. Just take a look at how opposing QBs have fared against Detroit:
- Week 1: Tyler Shough: 410 yards
- Week 2: Josh Allen: 248 yards
- Week 3: Geno Smith: 321 yards
- Week 4: Bryce Young: 329 yards
Now, Harrison’s QB gets his turn in Week 5. So, if you’re brave enough, let Harrison pop off one more time before you trade him away.
As for me, the Arizona WR I want to roster is Michael Wilson.
Omarion Hampton | RB | LAC
What in the Mike McDamnit is going on in LA?
Everything is bad. And now, Omarion Hampton is losing snaps to Keaton f’kin Mitchell??
Mitchell's percentage of backfield touches through the last three weeks:
- Week 2: 19%
- Week 3: 39%
- Week 4: 45%
Why is it growing!?
In the words of Dwain McFarland: Hampton's fantasy value is tanking. Even Bijan Robinson's BACKUP has scored more fantasy points through four weeks than Hampton.
HOLD: TEs
Michael Mayer | TE | LV
Oddly enough, even when Brock Bowers is on the field, Michael Mayer has averaged 14.2 PPG.
WTF?!
And through four weeks, Mayer is seeing a 17% target share (14% with Bowers).
With the unpredictable ebbs and flows at the TE position this season:
- Colston Loveland Weeks 1-2
- Dalton Kincaid Weeks 3-4
- Kenyon Sadiq Week 4
It's worth holding onto Mayer, isn’t it? He’s fighting to be the second passing option in LV.
If Kirk Cousins continues to get the ball into Mayer’s hands 14% of the time, with double-digit point potential... What do you have to lose?
Kenyon Sadiq | TE | NYJ
eeeeYUCK!
Week 4 was an absolute slap in the face for fantasy managers who just dropped FAAB on Sadiq before his 0-0-0 finish. And it was a slap in the face to anyone still brave enough to call themselves a "Jets fan."
But despite NYJ bragging about their 26-yard drive…
We are still holding onto Sadiq. He has a higher ceiling than his big fat goose egg would imply.
The Jets just need to actually move the f*cking ball.
