QB On Bye Week? Try Any Of These 5 Options In Your Fantasy Football Lineup

In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Mike's Harder.

The bye weeks are finally hitting and fantasy managers are going to feel it at QB this week without Bryce Young (QB3 on the year) and Patrick Mahomes (QB6 on the year).

Fortunately, the stars have aligned with the schedule for some pretty intriguing Week 5 streaming options.

Check it out …

Jacoby Brissett vs the Lions (No. 1 biggest fantasy boost)

Brissett is QB18 on the year averaging 15.8 PPG, but now he gets the juiciest matchup for opposing QBs at home vs. the Lions, who cough up:

  • 30.7 FPPG to opposing QBs (1st)
  • 327 passing yards to opposing QBs (1st)
  • 2.8 passing TDs to opposing QBs (1st)

He’s easily the best streamer option of the week at QB.

Jameis Winston @ the Commanders (No. 2 biggest fantasy boost)

Winston is coming off a QB9 finish in Week 4 and now gets a cushy matchup vs. the Commanders, who allow 2.5 passing TDs per game to opposing QBs and 24.8 fantasy points.

You’ll have to live with the INTs—he threw two more last week—but Winston is a strong option.

Jalon Daniels @ the Cowboys (No. 5 biggest fantasy boost)

Daniels is my least favorite of the five options here, but it’s worth flagging this matchup vs. the Cowboys. Not only does Dallas allow the third most fantasy points to opposing QBs (24.3), but they are particularly vulnerable to rushing QBs (+2.4 boost).

Daniels rushed 8 times for 55 yards vs. the Packers.

Tyson Bagent @ the Packers (No. 8 biggest fantasy boost)

Last week, the Bears smartly elected to run on the Jets, who are third-stingiest pass defense in the league so far (-4.8 “boost” to opposing QBs), but he now gets a much friendlier matchup vs. the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers vs. the Colts (No. 10 biggest fantasy boost)

Rodgers finished as the QB3 in Week 4 and now gets a nice matchup vs. the Colts, who allow 23.3 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs.

Week 5 Receiver Score Update: Sell Mike Evans?

If you’re up for wheeling and dealing, and have an aging WR whose name still has some cache, it might be time to have a chat. A little trade chat, because it might be time to sell high on Mike Evans. Coming off a game where he turned 8 targets into 5-76-0, the future Hall of Famer seems to still have it. But does that make this the right time to trade him?
