Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Football Matchup Breakdown For Week 7
John Laghezza breaks down the Cowboys vs. Eagles matchup for the Week 7 fantasy football slate.
Not sure schedule makers anticipated a pair of floundering (2-4) teams when they drew up this NFC East Monday Night Football matchup. It’s stoppable force versus movable object, as the Tanner McKee-led Eagles look for a divisional win against a bottom-5 Cowboys' defense.

Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Preview for Week 7
We knew entering 2026 the Cowboys’ offense would need to shoulder the load if they were going to make any noise this season. Dak Prescott started off pretty strong, but once he hit Week 3 things started slowly falling apart. Over the last month, the yardage is there since the defense stinks, but it’s hardly the type of efficient quarterbacking we’ve come to expect:
- 0.03 EPA/dropback
- 63.5% completion
- 11.6% off-target
- 80.5 passer rating
- 6.5 yards/attempt
- 1.0 TD:INT ratio.
Prescott ranks as the QB19, failing to crack the QB1 threshold once in that same timeframe. Potential is always there, it just hasn’t been pretty whatsoever.
Perhaps part of the aerial struggles stem from the Cowboys’ lack of imposing their will on the ground. Sure, Javonte Williams is the RB10 as a weekly must-start, but it’s very much reception and TD-dependent (3.7 yards/carry, 2.73 yards after contact/rush). He’s eclipsed 62 rushing yards only once and is averaging just 4.0 yards/touch. Williams fills the assigned role but he’s hardly changing any opposing coordinator’s plans.
Already trailing more than 67% of snaps on this young season, the Cowboys find themselves consistently playing from behind—something I thought they’d handle much better than this. Yeah, CeeDee Lamb is the overall WR2 (21.6 points/game), but George Pickens feels like he’s played much worse than the WR17. It’s been way more famine than feast for the early third-rounder, boasting just one finish inside the top-23. As long as he’s earning double-digit targets we have to stay the course on Pickens, but as long as Prescott’s accuracy remains shaky, his floor’s much lower than anticipated.
Last note on the DAL receiver room relates to Ryan Flournoy. While it’s tempting to say he’s eating into the dynamic duo’s targets, it’s not even the case. The Cowboys run 11-personnel at the third-highest rate in the league (74.0%) so there’s no choice but to stand pat and start our guys even in a tough matchup versus Philly. Still, feels like this offense could explode at any moment and sustain it for the stretch run. Buy low across the board where possible.
- Start: Dak Prescott (QB11), Javonte Williams (RB7), CeeDee Lamb (WR4), George Pickens (WR20)
- Sit: Jake Ferguson (TE21)
- Sleeper: Ryan Flournoy (WR43)
Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Preview for Week 7
Listen carefully and you might hear Taps playing softly on a trumpet off in the distance. That’s all folks. First off, prayers up for Jalen Hurts, who literally risked his life for this team by playing with a blood clot. He’ll miss the remainder of the 2026 season, leaving the keys to the forest green Ferrari in the hands of preseason darling Tanner McKee. The former sixth-rounder of out Stanford dropped back 48 times in his stead (OK, I’m listening), except other than not throwing a pick, the debut went pretty horribly otherwise (-0.15 EPA/dropback, 57.8% completion, 15.6% off-target, 77.5 passer rating, 4.8 yards/attempt).
At least McKee understood the assignment, peppering his top options DeVonta Smith (7-75-1) and Dallas Goedert (6-61-0) all game. Smith has been ruled out, and the same goes for Dontayvion Wicks. Hello, Makai Lemon. So, even though this is just a shell of the Eagles’ offense, I’d start Schultz and Lemon based on the matchup alone—Dallas is tied for a league-worst 6.0 yards/play and just 3 turnovers forced, with bottom-5 grades in EPA/dropback (-0.31), opposing passer rating (110.2), completion rate (68.5%) and yards/attempt (7.9).
Also, Saquon Barkley returned to practice and appears to be trending toward playing, but traded rumors may start swirling. So hold your nose and don’t drop Dameon Pierce just yet.
- Start: Saquon Barkley, Makai Lemon, Dallas Goedert
- Sit: none
- Sleeper: Tanner McKee
