Credit where it’s due for Big Blue turning chicken waste into chicken salad with three different QBs to date, including one acquired in an especially savvy move. J.J. McCarthy was always too young to give up on, with a potential reclamation under way. He’s protecting the ball (2.0% INT), plus avoiding sacks (7.5% sack)  while pushing the ball downfield (10.4 ADot) on decent efficiency (+0.22 EPA/dropback, 95.2 passer rating). When direct concerns are addressed and corrected, I’m paying attention — especially against a struggling Eagles’ D ranking dead last in turnovers forced (4) and sacks/game (1.3).

J.J.’s done a perfect job understanding the fantasy assignment by targeting the alpha WR early and often. Malik Nabers unsurprisingly boasts insane underpinning stuff with McCarthy under center (28.6% target/route, 4.20 yards/route, 7.0 routes/first down, 112.0 air yards/game). Perhaps less noticed, however, is the dropoff for Isaiah Likely as NYG’s clear-cut second option (14.0% target/route, 1.12 yards/route) — he’s quietly fallen behind Malachi Fields (22.7% target/route, 2.23 yards/route), who’s only ~4% rostered in fantasy formats. Change that immediately. There's a ceiling here for the third-round rookie through chemistry-fueled repetitions.

Be prepared. Heads on a swivel toward NYG’s backfield after HC John Harbaugh said presumed starter Cam Skattebo (hamstring) is day-to-day, possibly being a game-time decision for Sunday. With Najee Harris off to greener (bluer?) pastures and Tyrone Tracy on the IR, that basically leaves Devin Singletary in a position to secure a chunk of work in a good spot regardless. He’s shown chops in both phases of the game, gaining 5.2 yards/touch in 2026, and we all know how this goes — if Skattebo can’t suit up, Singletary’s single-digit roster rate skyrockets to universal overnight.

  • Start: J.J. McCarthy (QB20), Malik Nabers (WR6), Cam Skattebo (RB25)
  • Sit: Isaiah Likely (TE4)
  • Sleeper: Malachi Fields (WR60)

Patience may be a virtue, but nothing can stop the NFL from existing in a perpetual state of double speed. It’s now three full games of Tanner McKee posting consistently bad numbers: yet to finish above QB20, throw for +215 yards, multiple TDs, a positive EPA/dropback, or passer rating north of 80. Yikes. Now mix in taking too many sacks plus not enough deep shots downfield and that early preseason appeal’s all but gone — especially against a Giants’ secondary that’s allowed just one QB all season to pass for over 200 yards.

UPDATE: Eagles’ HC Nick Sirianni announced Philly will turn to Joe Milton at QB going forward. Known for a big arm and a willingness to scramble, the former sixth-rounder provides at least a little hope for the unknown. With that, bookmakers are still letting it be known to temper expectations with a ~190 passing prop on the board. I’m not changing opinions much on the move, other than stashing Milton where absolutely desperate on the hopes of a ceiling outcome.

Fair to assert injuries played a part in the Eagles’ recent demise, wiping both top options off the board at WAS. If DeVonta Smith suits up Sunday, he immediately vaults into fantasy viability. Sorry to my Makai Lemon lovers, but that’s as much optimism as you'll find outside some love for Dallas Goedert as a TE floor play — I can’t see enough volume in a tough matchup to get multiple fantasy assets home.

All types of respect for Saquon Barkley soldiering through injuries to be there for an imploding franchise, but come on, man … It's time to rest up. Unable to finish another contest due to a combo of hamstring and back issues, Barkley’s 11.5 touches/game since returning are doing both fantasy managers and the Eagles as much harm as good. If and when Barkley finally takes a knee, it’s wheels up for Elijah Mitchell, who played 65% of snaps, earning a rare 100% of PHI’s backfield opportunities after Barkley’s departure. Temper expectations for some monster breakout, but at the same time this has backend RB2 potential written all over it.

  • Start: DeVonta Smith (TBD), Dallas Goedert (TE13)
  • Sit: Joe Milton (QB29), Makai Lemon (WR31)
  • Sleeper: Saquon Barkley (RB20)
