Evaluating The 2026 Fantasy Football Bell Curve

Cooterdoodle rbeaks down her findings after examining the 2026 fantasy football rankings, placing teams on the bell curve for the season.

With any data set, we must first bathe ourselves in the numbers before we can begin to see the patterns emerge.

Fantasy football data is no different.

So, I spent some time diving into our fantasy football rankings to see how players were dispersed across each team. And that's when I saw it: The bell curve

But I'm not here to talk about the average joes who sit smack dab in the middle of the pack. No … the real lessons came from outside the bell curve.

What lessons, you ask? Take a look.

Five Teams Fall Outside the Top-50

There are five teams who don't have a single player ranked inside the top-50 this year.

This means the absolute best players on their NFL teams are projected to be just okay on your fantasy teams.

Highest Ranked Player Per Team:

Yikes.

While the implications are somewhat bleak, this doesn't necessarily mean WAS, CLE, JAX, TEN and PIT don't offer fantasy value in the later rounds of your drafts.

The takeaway: There’s not much confidence from our experts that these five offenses will provide any type of consistent, top-tier fantasy production in 2026. While you can find some value in the later rounds, I'd tread lightly and avoid stacking too many players from these offenses together in your drafts.

Two Teams Rule Round 1

The Lions and Falcons are outliers in the best way possible. And for good reason.

It's almost annoying how freakishly good these teams are at this fantasy point-producing stuff. And because of their elite productivity, both DET and ATL have two players ranked within the top-12.

TWO EACH!

I don’t have to tell you why each of these guys are ranked as Round 1 draft picks. But I will tell you this: London is the only one who hasn't finished in the top-10 in fantasy points for the last three years in a row.

The takeaway: The odds of me leaving Round 1 with a Lion or Falcon is in my favor. And if I do, odds are I won't regret it.

Two Teams Have "That One Guy"…

Miami and Minnesota also stand out in the ranks, but not in a good way.

They are both entering a Sisyphean era in 2026.

Like Sisyphus, who was condemned to an eternity of boulder pushing, De'Von Achane and Justin Jefferson are condemned to holding up the weight of their franchises each week in fantasy.

Outside of Achane and Jefferson, you have to scroll beyond the top-100 players before you even come close to finding another Dolphin or Viking in the mix.

The takeaway: If you miss out on Achane or Jefferson in the early rounds of your drafts, it's possible you won't roster a single Dolphin or Viking this season. And that would probably be just fine.

The Belly of the Beast

Let's finally get to the meat of it all: The belly of the bell curve. It houses all the teams with mostly average-ass players. They're cool, but overall, nothing special.

However, there are four teams that stand out from inside the belly of the beast.

Unlike the five teams(mentioned earlier) who’ve made absolutely no mark on the top-50, these four teams can be found all throughout the top player rankings.

When it comes to the top-50 ranked players, DAL, CIN, BAL and LAR are taking up more fantasy real estate in than a monopoly tycoon!!

They aren't extreme outliers like DET and ATL, but these teams are still better than average when it comes to their rosters' rankings. That’s got to count for something, right?

This season, DAL, CIN, BAL and LAR all provide multiple opportunities for top-tier fantasy success.

DAL Cowboys | 3 Players in Top-30

CIN Bengals | 4 Players in Top-50

BAL Ravens | 3 Players in Top-50

LA Rams | 3 Players in Top-50

The takeaway: DAL, CIN, BAL and LAR are projected to make fantasy managers very, very happy this year. While it doesn't necessarily matter which players you draft from these teams, you need to be sure to get a piece.
