Jonah Coleman Fantasy Football Impact With Denver Broncos

Matt LaMarca breaks down the fantasy football impact of the Denver Broncos selecting Jonah Coleman in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Everyone knows about Jeremiyah Love, who was the consensus RB1 in this rookie class. But what about some of the other options? Jonah Coleman may not be a household name at the moment, but the Broncos liked him enough to select him with the 108th pick in the draft. What does his fantasy outlook look like? Let’s dive in.

Jonah Coleman Fantasy Football Outlook With The Broncos

As far as landing spots go, it’s hard to imagine a much worse one than the Broncos. At best, Coleman figures to start the year as the No. 3 option on the depth chart. The Broncos brought back J.K. Dobbins after an impressive campaign in 2025-26, and the team took RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie also remain as depth options, with Badie serving as a passing-down back last season.

Even if Dobbins does eventually depart, Harvey has the inside track to be the Broncos’ primary running back in the future. The team invested more draft capital in him, and he turned in a solid rookie campaign. He had just under 900 scrimmage yards with 12 touchdowns, and he more than held his own after being thrust into the starting role following the injury to Dobbins.

The good news is that if Coleman can get on the field, the Broncos have a very functional offense. Specifically, they were fourth in ESPN’s Run Block Win Rate, and they earned the seventh-best run-blocking grade from PFF.

Still, this has to be considered a clear downgrade for Coleman. Even though he was officially the fourth running back off the board, he could certainly be jumped by “lesser” prospects who have a more immediate path to playing time.

Should You Plan to Draft Jonah Coleman this year?

Before the draft, Coleman was coming off the board with an average draft position just inside the top 140 on Underdog. After landing in Denver, that figure is set to drop. Harvey (68.4) and Dobbins (93.5) are both coming off the board inside the top 100 picks, and the odds of three running backs from the same team all having fantasy viability are extremely thin. He’s probably waiver wire fodder in re-draft formats.

Even his dynasty outlook has taken a hit. Coleman’s biggest “asset” for fantasy purposes was his potential to be a three-down workhorse, and that dream feels officially dead in Denver. He’s still a draft-worthy prospect, but I’m moving him way down my rookie ranks.

2026 Scouting Report For Jonah Coleman

Nothing that Coleman does really jumps off the page. That said, he doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses either. He can do a little bit of everything, which was evident during his time in college.

Coleman started his collegiate career at Arizona, where he earned playing time right out of the gate. He garnered a 26% snap share in his first season before following head coach Jedd Fisch to Washington in 2024. He really took off with the Huskies, racking up more than 2,300 total yards with 27 touchdowns in two seasons.

Coleman produced solid underlying metrics in his final season, particularly before suffering an injury in Week 11. He graded out as above average in basically every category across the board, including as a receiver and pass blocker. Specifically, he allowed just a 5% pressure rate when blocking, which could help him stay on the field in passing situations as a pro.

Coleman figures to start his NFL tenure as a backup, but he has some appealing comps in Dwain McFarland’s Rookie Super Model. Rhamondre Stevenson and Kyren Williams are two of his closest comps, and both guys have provided plenty of fantasy value.
