Jordyn Tyson vs. Carnell Tate: Who Should You Draft In 2026 Fantasy Football?

Justin Carlucci breaks down how to approach the WR1 and WR2 of the 2026 rookie class, Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate.

You’re on the clock. Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson are both available. Who should you draft in fantasy football? As with most things this early in the fantasy football season, context matters.

Let’s dive into the weeds.

What The Markets Say About Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate

Tate's fantasy football ADP sits at 60.5 in one of Underdog Fantasy’s flagship best ball contests, “The Puppy,” as of Monday, with Tyson right behind him at 63.0. Not much separation there, and it's not surprising.

According to FanDuel, Tate is priced at +300 in the “most regular-season rookie receiving yards” market, while Tyson checks in at +340. Oddsmakers are tight on this one, too!

Where it gets interesting is the National Fantasy Championship ADP, which hosted 100 high-stakes drafts from April 27 through Monday. Tate's NFC ADP sits at 70.12, and Tyson's ADP is 92.0, ranging from 63rd to 134th. That's a meaningful gap in high-stakes formats, and I'm not sure it's warranted.

If you're drafting on a site where a significant ADP gap exists between the two, take the value on Jordyn Tyson and be thrilled about it.

Jordyn Tyson Fantasy Football Outlook In New Orleans

Here’s something to get excited about if you’re drafting Tyson: according to Fantasy Points Data, the New Orleans Saints threw the football at the fourth-highest neutral pass rate in the entire NFL last season under Kellen Moore. That's a massive green flag for any receiver in this system.

Yes, Tyson carries an injury history, and maybe that’s why there is a gap in his ADP on the NFC right now. But if he’s healthy in 2026, the market projects him right alongside Tate. The NFL schedule hasn't even been released yet, and there will be massive fluctuations between now and kickoff.

Another angle here is that Chris Olave is in the last year of his deal and is a midseason trade candidate, so it’s possible Tyson falls into a gigantic target share during the money weeks of the fantasy playoffs.

Getting Tyson at a discount before the news cycle kicks in or the public overreacts to one thing or another is a big reason why I’m a firm believer in starting your drafts in the spring.

If you're committed, come into draft season with a plan and start early. Every year, with risers and fallers, you simply won’t be able to re-create some of the unique player combinations in August as you can in May or June.

The Carnell Tate Upside Case In Fantasy Football

The Titans spent enormous draft capital on Tate at No. 4 overall, and there is a clear expectation that comes with that price tag. He should have a stranglehold on targets from the jump as he ramps up. No Titans pass catcher eclipsed a target share north of 17% last season. The team is in dire need of an alpha.

The top of the Tennessee wide receiver room features Calvin Ridley, who Father Time has caught up with, and Wan'Dale Robinson, a nice addition, but not a threat to Tate's long-term role. If Ridley gets cut post-June 1, which would be surprising but not overly shocking, Tate's value and ADP would both rise significantly. Either way, you can play the glass-half-empty approach on Ridley and feel good about drafting Tate.

New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll should also unlock this offense in ways Brian Callahan never could with Cam Ward. That's a meaningful upgrade for every skill player in Tennessee, with much better route concepts compared to the mess Callahan was rolling out every week.

As far as the NFL schedule release, odds are good the Titans will have to deal with the stingy Texans’ secondary at least once during the fantasy playoffs. So if we’re splitting hairs, perhaps Tate gets bumped a tick down if you’re into correlation during the fantasy playoffs.

The Best Ball Stack Angles With Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate

Both receivers come with a cheap quarterback stack option, which is a big plus for best ball. On Underdog, Ward is going around pick 140 in "The Puppy," one of the site's flagship contests. Tyler Shough is being selected around pick 113 in that same format, a slightly more expensive stack, but still extremely affordable.

In best ball formats where the ADP is close, draft both. But in leagues or contests where Tyson is going much later, the value is clear right now, take Tyson and don't look back. The NFL schedule release will reshape everything anyway.
