Kendall's Key Questions for Fantasy Football Week 3

Ian - Saskatchewan: Is there anything I can do with Drake Maye and Colston Loveland? Or do I just have to play them? My team is in shambles after Week 2 :(

Hey Ian! Trust me, it's been brutal out there with the lack of firepower from some of our "superstars" lost to injuries… BRUTAL! But I promise you can get through this. Let's start with the better (woof) of the two you're asking about—Drake Maye and the Patriots take on the Jaguars and are still going to be without their top wide receiver in A.J. Brown. It's been a bad first two weeks for Maye; I mean, the Patriots haven't even scored more than 20 points in either game. According to The Athletic, last season Maye completed 57.7% of his passes under pressure, but now Maye is completing 44.4% and 33.3% of his passes under pressure.

Maye has been downgraded in my rankings, but he's still my QB12. Let's be very clear, it might not be pretty this week, but unless you've picked up Tyler Shough or want to try for a better outcome with Bryce Young, it's hard to bench him.

Now for Colston Loveland, YIKES. Whether it's Carson Wentz or Tyson Bagent, we should expect a downgrade in Chicago's offensive production. Loveland is currently my TE13, and even that might be too high.

Nick - Buffalo: Do you start Jalen Coker or David Montgomery in a PPR league?

What a pleasant surprise Jalen Coker has been to start the season! He popped up on the injury report Thursday, but recent reports say he is good to play on Sunday against the Browns. The Utilization Report has given Coker glowing reviews—he's given fantasy managers 33.8 and 14.6 fantasy points over the first two games, and he has the No. 4 Utilization Score at 94. My lean here is to start Coker.

I do think David Montgomery has a bounce-back game, although it really can't get worse than what we saw last week with his 4.4 fantasy points. He's taking on the Colts on Sunday; that defense has faced Derrick Henry and Kenneth Walker in the first two weeks and has given up 299 yards on planned rushing plays. Montgomery isn't on the same level as those other two running backs, but he is talented and can exploit them.

Hector - NY: I have Dallas Goedert, who is hurt; do you have any deep streamers for this weekend?

I think with the news that Puka Nacua is not going to play on Sunday Night Football, you can turn to Terrance Ferguson. Davante Adams' huge night overshadowed what Ferguson was able to do against the Giants. He finished that game with six receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown. The Rams are playing against Denver, which is never an easy matchup, but they'll need all hands on deck to get things done.

Another option could be Oronde Gadsden for the Chargers. The team lost David Njoku and Charlie Kolar, and Gadsden is the second-best receiving option for this team right now. According to Dwain McFarland, the Bills have boosted opposing pass-catching units by 7.1 points per game.

If you want to get REALLY uncomfortable, you can turn to Darren Waller. He is a touchdown-dependent tight end, but so far this season that's what he's been doing. He scored two against the Falcons last week, and he could continue to be a solid streamer if we see the snaps and targets rise as this offense continues to prove itself.

Noelle - DE: With the high winds at MetLife, and Jameis Winston at QB, would you start Malik Nabers over Wicks?

Thankfully, Malik Nabers' shoulder injury scare is behind us, but it's going to be an uphill battle for this team. I hope that with a week to prepare, Winston looks a bit better, but this is a downgrade for the whole offense with Jaxson Dart out for the year. I'm still rolling out Nabers when compared to starting Dontayvion Wicks, but the long-term upside is not looking as pretty.

Josh - PA: Do you have any favorite flex plays this week?

I think that any Denzel Boston manager knows he's looking good, but I have to shout him out here. He scored 20.5 points in Week 2, and he now has an 85 Utilization Score, a 22% target share, and is averaging 17.2 points per game. He's taking on the Panthers on Sunday, and while regression is probably coming, the underlying utilization is too good to keep him on the bench.
