Here’s how it went.

Pass Catchers Matthew Berry Loves

Zay Flowers @ BUF (WR5)
Tee Higgins vs. TEN (WR9)
Parker Washington vs. IND (WR10)
T.J. Hockenson @ DET (TE7)

Berry’s got two big themes here: a Bills-Ravens game that should be a track meet, and a Lions defense that has been a gift to tight ends all season. Flowers and Washington are getting fed in the right spots, and Higgins has a matchup Berry thinks he’s underrated in.

Others receiving votes: Michael Wilson @ DAL (WR21), Stefon Diggs vs. PHI (WR24), Omar Cooper vs. LV (WR33), Dallas Goedert @ WSH (TE8), Hunter Henry @ MIA (TE10). Berry’s got a role or a soft matchup (sometimes both) lined up for all five.

Pass Catchers Matthew Berry Hates

Jameson Williams vs. MIN (WR26)
Jaylen Waddle vs. KC (WR30)
Rome Odunze @ SEA (WR39)

Berry’s fading all three because of defenses that have made life miserable for wide receivers. Williams, Waddle, and Odunze all run into a secondary that doesn’t give up much, and he’s not betting on any of them breaking the trend.

Running Backs Matthew Berry Loves

Derrick Henry @ BUF (RB6)
Chase Brown vs. TEN (RB8)
Josh Jacobs vs. CAR (RB11)
Breece Hall (RB17) and Braelon Allen (RB29) vs. LV

Berry likes all of these backs for the same reason: Week 8 has plenty of defenses that can’t stop the run. Henry has a history against Buffalo, Brown is due for some touchdown luck, and Jacobs gets a Panthers defense that’s been a nightmare for backs.

Others receiving votes: Rhamondre Stevenson @ MIA (RB18), Jordan Mason @ DET (RB25), Blake Corum vs. LAC (RB26). Berry’s got a favorable matchup or a role bump for each.

Quick news before we get to the fades: Dameon Pierce was placed on IR, which is part of the backdrop for Barkley’s Week 8. Berry’s wary of all three, with Barkley’s usage a concern, Pollard stuck in a brutal spot as an 11.5-point underdog, and Hampton still looking for a real role.

Saquon Barkley @ WSH (RB20)
Tony Pollard @ CIN (RB21)
Omarion Hampton @ LAR (RB34)

Quarterbacks Matthew Berry Loves

Joe Burrow vs. TEN (QB2)
Trevor Lawrence vs. IND (QB4)
Dak Prescott vs. ARI (QB6)

Berry’s loading up on quarterbacks in high-scoring environments against defenses that can’t slow down the pass. Burrow and Prescott are in spots with huge team totals, and Lawrence comes off the bye against a Colts team Berry has some questions about.

Others receiving votes: Jacoby Brissett @ DAL (QB10), Kyler Murray @ DET (QB11), Geno Smith vs. LV (QB15). Berry likes the volume or the defense on the other side for each.

Quarterbacks Matthew Berry Hates

Caleb Williams @ SEA (QB14)
Jared Goff vs. MIN (QB13)

Berry’s staying away from both. Williams walks into the toughest pass defense in football, and Goff faces a Vikings defense that has been tormenting quarterbacks with pressure.
