Week 6 Fantasy Football Injuries, Coachspeak and News to Help You Win: Projecting The Bears Offense & More

Zain Dhanani runs through the latest Week 6 Fantasy Football Injuries, Coachspeak and News to Help You Win

Published Updated

I'm going game by game through the Week 6 injuries, coach comments, and news to explain what changes for our fantasy football lineups.

The positional ranks below are from my latest Week 6 fantasy football rankings.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (London, 9:30 a.m. ET)

Woody Marks and the Houston Backfield

David Montgomery is out with the groin injury, giving Woody Marks another chance to lead the backfield. Marks handled 15 carries last week and ran a route on 75% of Houston's dropbacks. Jacksonville has been tough to run on, so Marks may need those receiving opportunities again.

Marks is my RB22, and I'd use him in PPR if I were thin at RB.

Marvin Harrison Jr. and Parker Washington

Marvin Harrison Jr. will make his Houston debut, but DeMeco Ryans has already said they're easing him in. I'd keep Harrison on the bench until we see how much of the offense he plays - he’s just a stash for now.

Houston is also missing Jalen Pitre in the secondary. That matters for Parker Washington, who does so much of his damage from the slot. At WR13, Washington could have an even bigger game.

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons

Caleb Williams and the Bears Pass Catchers

Caleb Williams practiced fully all week and is still officially questionable. I'm confident he'll play Sunday. His return is an upgrade for Chicago's pass catchers, but I think Atlanta's pass defense is tougher than the numbers suggest.

I have Caleb at QB7, Luther Burden III at WR21, Rome Odunze at WR27 and Colston Loveland at TE9.

Kyle Monangai is out again, and I'm starting D'Andre Swift as my RB8 - he should get a large workload.

Michael Penix and Drake London

Michael Penix has no injury designation after practicing fully with the rib injury. Drake London is also cleared despite managing his hip during the week.

London is my WR3 even with Penix down at QB21 in my ranks. Chicago has injuries up front, which should give Atlanta's passing game a better chance this week.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Tyler Huntley, Zay Flowers and Baltimore's Offensive Line

Lamar Jackson is out again with the ankle injury, and Tyler Huntley will make another start. Baltimore is also without center Cam Jurgens, with both Andrew Vorhees and Emery Jones questionable at guard. Moving Vega Ioane to center just creates another question at guard.

Huntley is my QB20. I'm still starting Derrick Henry at RB7 and Zay Flowers at WR17, but the protection is a concern against Cleveland. Flowers has no game designation after the toe issue, and I'm starting him as usual.

Mark Andrews is my TE15 with Huntley starting and Baltimore missing multiple offensive linemen. The schematic matchup looked better when Jackson was a possibility. Check the rankings and only play him if there aren’t better options.

Quinshon Judkins and Cleveland's Backfield

Quinshon Judkins is questionable after returning to practice Friday. He left the Jets game in a walking boot and missed the first two practices. Dylan Sampson won't return from IR this week either, leaving Cleveland without an easy replacement if Judkins can't go.

Judkins is my RB23 if active, but I would have another back ready. Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime would be in line for more opportunities if he sits. Neither backup is an automatic start until we know how Cleveland plans to split the carries, but I would lean McLaughlin in a pinch.

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts

Tyler Warren, Josh Downs and Keenan Allen

Tyler Warren landed on Friday's report with a groin injury and is questionable. A new injury on Friday worries me more than an early-week maintenance day, and I'd have another TE available.

Warren is my TE8 if active. Josh Downs and Daniel Jones don't have game designations after dealing with injuries earlier in the week. I have Downs at WR26 and Keenan Allen at WR32, with both becoming more appealing if Warren can't go.

Will Mallory is questionable too, and Indianapolis released Darius Slayton on Friday. None of the backup TEs are interesting even in deep TE premium formats.

Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears

Tyjae Spears is questionable with a knee injury despite finishing the week with a full practice. Pollard is my RB20, but if Spears plays, the passing downs are still going to be split.

It's a better matchup for Pollard than Houston last week, and I'm fine starting him as an RB2 even if Spears plays. I think Tyjae Spears will play, but if he doesn’t, Pollard could receive nearly all the work and would get a significant upgrade.

New York Jets at New England Patriots

Braelon Allen and Garrett Wilson

Breece Hall and Adonai Mitchell are out again. Braelon Allen handled 24 of the Jets' 26 RB carries against Cleveland. He is my RB13 against New England. Aaron Glenn keeps talking about getting other backs involved, but Allen's still taking almost all of the carries.

Garrett Wilson is my WR12, but this isn't the same Patriots secondary we attacked last week. Christian Gonzalez is cleared to return, even with Carlton Davis still out. Gonzalez returning makes this a tougher matchup, but it’s Garrett Wilson, so he’s a start.

Kenyon Sadiq remains questionable with the concussion despite a full Friday practice. He's TE27 in my ranks, not a priority stream. The Jets seem to want to rotate TEs right now. He’s just a stash.

Omar Cooper Jr. is questionable in his return window too - he is a deep league stash.

A.J. Brown and TreVeyon Henderson

A.J. Brown is expected to come off IR and play Sunday, per Ian Rapoport. He’s a WR2 given the bye weeks and WR landscape this week.

His return makes Efton Chism and Romeo Doubs unplayable.

TreVeyon Henderson is questionable after three limited practices with his ankle injury. Rhamondre Stevenson is my RB14, with more upside if Henderson sits. Either way he’s someone I am starting. The Patriots have treated this situation very oddly and worked out RBs on Friday, which could indicate Henderson is not ready to play. Rhamondre would bump up to a top 6 RB for me if Henderson is out.

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants

Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara

Chris Olave is questionable with an illness after returning to a limited practice Friday. He's my WR8 if he's feeling better by Sunday, and missing practice with an illness isn't enough to change that.

If Olave sits, DeVaughn Vele and Juwan Johnson are the established pass catchers I'd expect to gain targets. Vele is WR31 and Johnson TE11.

Alvin Kamara is also questionable, with the back injury limiting him all week. I have Kamara at RB29 and Kendre Miller at RB31. I don't have much separating the two if both play. Miller would get a bigger bump if Kamara sits.

Malik Nabers, Isaiah Likely and the Giants Tackles

Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor are both questionable. John Harbaugh sounded optimistic about the tackles, but Friday's report still listed them as limited. I need to see them active before I feel much better about Winston's protection.

Nabers is my WR9 and Likely my TE4. Theo Johnson is out with his neck injury, which leaves one fewer TE for New York to rotate through. Those two are the entire passing game and are auto starts. The tackle situation worries me more for Winston, but he’s still streamable this week.

Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles

Tanner McKee, Dameon Pierce and DeVonta Smith

Jalen Hurts is out after the Eagles announced a superficial blood clot in his calf. Tanner McKee will start, and Philadelphia will also be without Saquon Barkley again. Will Shipley has gone to IR with the foot injury.

Dameon Pierce is my RB21. He took over the RB carries once Shipley left last week, even with Carson Steele active. I expect him to lead this backfield again. Carolina has allowed 5.39 YPC to RBs through Week 5, the highest mark in the league. Even with McKee starting, I'm using Pierce as an RB2 because of the volume and matchup.

DeVonta Smith has no injury designation after missing two games, and he's still my WR20 even with Tanner McKee starting. I don't want to start McKee himself at QB28, but Smith can get enough receiving work to be a WR2. The Panthers are without Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, so that makes this a strong matchup for Smith.

Jalen Coker and Chuba Hubbard

Jalen Coker is cleared and sits at WR19 in my ranks, just behind Tetairoa McMillan at WR18. The Eagles are shorthanded defensively, and I like getting Coker back against them as a WR2.

Chuba Hubbard is my RB11. Carolina has ruled out AJ Dillon, but the offensive line still has questions. Monroe Freeling is doubtful, and Taylor Moton and Damien Lewis remain questionable even after full Friday practices. Moton still needs to be activated from IR to play. Trevor Etienne was activated from IR Friday, but he's still questionable and we don't have a clear workload for him. It’s a tougher matchup, but Chuba Hubbard should see a strong workload - getting the linemen on the field would just help boost some efficiency.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

DK Metcalf and Germie Bernard

DK Metcalf missed Friday with an illness and is questionable. Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek are already out, and Michael Pittman Jr. remains on IR. Tampa Bay also ruled out safety Antoine Winfield Jr., with cornerback Benjamin Morrison doubtful. Metcalf has a good matchup if he plays, especially with Winfield out.

Metcalf is my WR24 if active. Germie Bernard is WR34, but I'd move him near Metcalf if he sits. Pat Freiermuth (TE13) would also pick up some of that missing target volume, though I believe this is a tougher matchup for Freiermuth.

Rico Dowdle is still questionable despite full practices Thursday and Friday. Mike McCarthy said Jaylen Warren has earned a larger role even when Dowdle is healthy. Warren is my RB12, and I'd still lean his way even if Dowdle plays. This is a defense that funnels passes to the RB.

Jalon Daniels and the Tampa Bay Offense

Baker Mayfield is out again with the thumb injury, leaving Jalon Daniels to make a third consecutive start. We got word on Saturday that Baker Mayfield has a chance to return in Week 7, so this could be the last start for Daniels.

With Daniels, Bucky Irving is my RB17, with Emeka Egbuka at WR38 and Chris Godwin at WR48.

Sean Tucker is questionable with a quad injury and will be a game-time decision. If he sits, Irving could see more of the goal-line work Tucker got last week. Neither Egbuka nor Godwin is a priority start for me with Daniels at QB.

Pittsburgh has ruled out DeShon Elliott, and Jalen Ramsey and Jamel Dean remain questionable. I have Daniels at QB19, even with the injuries on Pittsburgh's defense.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

Tyler Allgeier and Jeremiyah Love

Jeremiyah Love is out with the ankle injury. LaFleur doesn't expect Love to land on IR, but he's getting another week to recover.

Tyler Allgeier is my RB25 and a flex against the Rams. Arizona is missing starters along the line, and the Rams have a tough front, which keeps me from getting more aggressive on Allgeier.

There’s been chatter that Jacoby Brissett could get benched for Carson Beck. If things go very poorly, I wouldn’t rule that out in-game.

Michael Wilson and the Rams Secondary

Trent McDuffie is questionable with a groin injury that came up Thursday. Sean McVay described Friday's absence as precautionary, and Kam Curl is questionable too.

Michael Wilson is my WR16. Losing McDuffie would make the matchup even better, but I'm starting Wilson either way. Trey McBride is still my TE3.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce

Rashee Rice is out with the hamstring and knee injuries, and Josh Simmons is still out at left tackle. Patrick Mahomes practiced fully all week and doesn't have a game designation for his knee.

Worthy is my WR23 with Rice unavailable, and Kelce is TE7. Worthy was already running a route on at least 84% of Kansas City's dropbacks before the bye.

There’s a lot of buzz that Cyrus Allen and Jaylen Royals will see upgrades in playing time. They are deep league stashes you can get ahead of on the waiver wire in case one or both have big games.

The Chargers have ruled out Derwin James and Donte Jackson, which makes the matchup easier for Kansas City's passing game. Mahomes is my QB8 and Kenneth Walker III is RB2.

Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston and the Chargers Line

Tre Harris is out with the hamstring injury, but McConkey and Johnston both practiced fully Friday and have no game designations. McConkey is WR33 and Johnston WR47 in my ranks. I'd start McConkey if I needed a WR3, but Johnston is more of a desperation flex.

Joe Alt and Kayode Awosika are out again, with Rashawn Slater already on IR, and I'm leaving Justin Herbert down at QB26 with this offensive line.

Charlie Kolar is cleared too. I'm not streaming Oronde Gadsden (TE36) with Kolar back.

Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders

DJ Moore and Dalton Kincaid

DJ Moore and Josh Palmer are both questionable with shoulder injuries. Moore returned to a limited practice Friday after missing the first two days. I'd keep another late-game WR available if I'm counting on Moore, but it would make sense to sit him through the Week 7 bye.

Moore is my WR15 if active. Kincaid is TE5 after running a route on 82% of Buffalo's dropbacks last week, his highest mark of the season. Joe Brady wanted Kincaid playing more, and he finally got it last week. I'm starting Kincaid regardless of Moore's status, and there's more target upside if Moore sits.

Khalil Shakir is currently WR39. I'd be more interested in Shakir as a deeper flex if either Moore or Palmer sits. Tre Tucker (WR35) is an option in the same game if Moore ends up inactive.

Ashton Jeanty and the Raiders Offense

Ashton Jeanty has no injury designation after the ankle and foot concerns last week. He's my RB10 this week.

Jalen Nailor has also cleared concussion protocol. Buffalo still has Ed Oliver and slot corner Dee Alford questionable, two more defensive situations that could improve the matchup if either sits.

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers (Sunday Night)

Javonte Williams and the Packers Defensive Front

Green Bay has ruled out Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Ford, with Jordon Riley doubtful and Anthony Campbell questionable.

Javonte Williams is my RB9 with Green Bay missing so much of its defensive front. Dallas also cleared Tyler Guyton and Tyler Smith, which sets up a good rushing matchup.

Josh Jacobs, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden and the Cowboys Secondary

Cobie Durant is out, and Joey Porter Jr. and DeMarvion Overshown are questionable. Shavon Revel is returning, but I'd still be targeting this Cowboys secondary. Watson is my WR5, Golden WR11 and Tucker Kraft TE6.

CeeDee Lamb has no game designation after practicing fully with the thigh injury, and he's my WR4. Green Bay is missing Benjamin St-Juste, and Brandon Cisse was added to Friday's injury report.

The Packers still have Aaron Banks and Jacob Monk questionable at guard. MarShawn Lloyd is my preferred Green Bay RB at RB19, though the guard injuries are worth watching before Sunday night. Chris Brooks remains on IR, and Pierre Strong is the deeper backfield option at RB35.

Josh Jacobs is no longer on the commissioner’s exempt list and should have the workhorse role he typically has in the backfield upon his return. It’s still a bad run blocking unit, so temper expectations, but he’s a mid-tier RB2 upon return for me. The NFL is still investigating the situation, so a suspension can still happen. I would hold MarShawn Lloyd, but drop the others. If you’re still worried, you could trade Jacobs.

Washington Commanders at San Francisco 49ers (Monday Night)

Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs and the Washington Backfield

Washington hasn't issued its final game designations yet. Stefon Diggs returned to a limited practice Friday with the hamstring injury. Terry McLaurin went the other direction, missing Friday after being limited Thursday, although his listing includes rest as well as the hamstring.

McLaurin is my WR25 if active, but I wouldn't wait until Monday without another option. Antonio Williams is my fallback if McLaurin is out.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt missed both practices with his groin injury. Rachaad White was downgraded to limited Friday with the shoulder, and Austin Ekeler has been limited with a chest injury. White is currently RB26 and Croskey-Merritt RB28. I'd move White up if Croskey-Merritt sits, assuming White is also healthy enough to play.

Mike Evans, George Kittle and the 49ers Receivers

Deebo Samuel is out for at least a couple of weeks, and Evans has added Achilles soreness to the rib issue. He missed Thursday and Friday. Shanahan called it soreness, but I'd wait for Saturday's injury report before committing to Evans on Monday.

I have Evans at WR6 if he plays, but I'm not waiting until Monday without another option. Brandin Cooks is WR54 and could take more routes if Evans sits, but that would be a huge drop from Evans. If you have a decent Sunday WR, I'd lean that way unless Saturday's report is reassuring.

George Kittle is TE2 and Christian McCaffrey RB3. Christian Kirk is practicing in his return window, but he still needs to be activated. I'm not starting Kirk unless he's activated and we hear he's going to have a strong role.
