Where Should You Draft Travis Hunter in Fantasy Football?
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Bud Light:
We’ve come a long way with Travis Hunter since February.
Heading into the Combine, there were worries he’d be a full-time cornerback.
Flash forward to last Thursday night when the Jags gave up a haul to select him No. 2 overall in the NFL Draft … to play WR.
Now we’re left to pick up the pieces and figure out how to appropriately value him across various fantasy formats …
Where should Travis Hunter go in fantasy?
At this point, we’ve already had our biggest Hunter question answered when Liam Coen said he’ll primarily play on offense. Still, there seems to be some lingering doubt based on the current prices I’m seeing …
🧓 Dynasty. In our Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft, Hunter went 1.05. This is also his ADP across most dynasty superflex drafts right now. I understand why this is happening, but for me, Hunter is the clear 1.02 when setting aside any positional needs for a squad.
🏆️ Season-long. Hunter’s current ADP on Underdog is 50.7, which is up 100+ spots from where he was going when contests first dropped in February. And I’d still argue it represents a discount to his upside scenarios. I’m trying to gobble up as much 5th-round Hunter as I can get right now because he feels destined for the third round by the end of the summer.
I truly think the only thing keeping a discount alive is a misplaced anchoring effect to the old notion that Hunter would primarily be playing defense. Even with new, actionable information, it’s hard for people to wipe that old possibility from their memory.
But we live in a new reality—a reality where Hunter is going to play WR. And not only is he going to play WR, but he’s going to do so in a good situation with a good QB!
As Dwain recently said, “Hunter offers the complete package, with a high-end film rating of 91, to go along with a strong production rating of 87 … if he were drafted purely as a WR, he would rank third all time in the Super Model.”
I realize a lot of the appeal with fantasy football is overthinking things, but I urge you not to overthink Travis Hunter.
Enjoy whatever discounts you can get now because the next generational WR prospect that comes along won’t be hiding in DB’s clothing …
NOW ONTO PREDICTING ROOKIE RB PRODUCTION
P.S. Tomorrow this newsletter will be getting a facelift. We’re doing some spring cleaning and ushering in a big summer for Fantasy Life. See ya then …

Rookie Rankings and Tiers
The numbers have been crunched, the Rookie Super Model has been updated, and the tiers are … tiering?
Anyways, Dwain McFarland has dusted off the top of his head as he’s crept out of his data cellar with fresh new rookie rankings and tiers.
In them, he talks about how a certain rookie (not named Ashton Jeanty) who offers a size-and-speed combination that NFL teams covet, meaning he should be considered a borderline RB2 with RB1 upside by fantasy championship time. That sounds pretty juicy. I mean, remember the Bucky Irving runout in 2024? Yeah, we do, too.
As the No. 2 rookie in Dwain’s rankings, the time to buy is now. ⬇️

You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers
If you haven’t been able to tell lately, we’ve been focused on one thing and one thing only—rankings.
Our rankers have finally crawled out of their holes and touched some grass, but questions remain. A lot of them, actually.
What the hell do we do with Marvin Harrison Jr. this season?
How can we rank the Steelers WRs without a QB update??
How long is too long to keep chicken in the freezer until you just have to chuck it? Wait … what?
Anyways, we have questions, our rankers have answers. Even to the frozen chicken question. ⬇️
