NFL Survivor Picks For Week 2: Back The Buccaneers Against The Browns

If you’re reading this, then congratulations, you weren’t embarrassingly eliminated in the first week. That doesn’t mean we should start taking risks yet, even with a rather large survivor upset with the Chargers falling to the Cardinals in Week 1.

Let’s keep the run going and look at these three teams to get you through Week 2

Week 2 NFL Survivor Picks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Cleveland Browns)

This season, a good strategy might be to pick against the Browns. As long as Deshaun Watson is the quarterback in Cleveland, this team will struggle.

We saw the defense post-Myles Garrett, and it is not good. Last week against the Jaguars, the defense posted the fifth-fewest pressures (5) and had the most missed tackles (15).

Despite losing, the Buccaneers played a solid game against the Bengals in Week 1. Bucky Irving averaged 5.6 yards per carry and caught all seven of his targets for 48 yards, and Emeka Egbuka played well in his debut as the WR1.

Tampa Bay’s defensive front was excellent, recording five tackles for a loss and six quarterback hits. They should be disruptive to Watson all day.

The Buccaneers’ secondary ranked among the worst in the league last season, finishing 27th in passing yards allowed per game (238.2) and allowing 245 passing yards to Joe Burrow. However, they should have better success against Watson, who had just 205 passing yards and threw his lone touchdown in garbage time last week against the Jaguars.

Philadelphia Eagles (at Tennessee Titans)

The Eagles weren’t at their sharpest last week against the Commanders. If it hadn’t been for an unsportsmanlike penalty from Stefon Diggs, which prevented Washington from going for two points, Philly could have lost.

This week, the Eagles face a more favorable opponent as they head to Tennessee to take on the Titans. It’s rare to see the road team as a touchdown favorite this early in the season, but given what we saw from the Titans last week, it’s no surprise.

Titans head coach Robert Saleh had a chance for revenge against the Jets, the team that fired him two years ago, but his new team laid an egg. This wasn’t against a top team; it was the Jets, who went 3-14 last season.

Cam Ward struggled in that game, throwing for 140 yards and a touchdown in garbage time. In total, the Titans’ offense generated only 195 yards.

Looking at Philadelphia’s schedule, there aren’t many games you could confidently take them in your survivor pool. Their next three games are against the Bears, Rams and Jaguars. Later in the season, they face the Seahawks, 49ers and Texans.

Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)

You may not like this one because of the Chargers' performance last week, but this might be the last chance to take them in your survivor pool.

They have a gauntlet coming up against the Bills, Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans and Ravens. This stretch can make or break their season, and even if they win some of these games, they are still a risky pick.

It's worth taking the Chargers against the Raiders despite Las Vegas winning in Week 1. That’s because of who they faced last week. Given the Dolphins' talent level and expectations for this season, most teams will likely look like Super Bowl contenders.

With the exception of Ashton Jeanty, no Raiders offensive player played well. Kirk Cousins threw for just 220 yards; he had three touchdowns, but also two interceptions. With Brock Bowers sidelined, it was Jeanty who led the team with just 45 receiving yards.

The Chargers are better defensively than they were last week. In 2025, they ranked eighth in rushing yards allowed per game (105.4) and second in EPA per carry (-0.10).

Jeanty may not match last week’s performance. The Chargers contained the Raiders' star running back last year; he averaged just 2.8 yards per carry and was held out of the end zone in two games.\
