NFL Survivor Picks For Week 6: Rams Bounceback Incoming

John Supowitz offers up three Week 6 survivor pool plays, including the Los Angeles Rams hosting the Arizona Cardinals.

Welcome to Week 6 in your Survivor Pool. We have a strategy for which teams to pick against, as they have looked terrible this season.

These three games this week will help you come back for another week.

Week 6 NFL Survivor Picks

Los Angeles Rams (vs. Arizona Cardinals)

The Rams suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Bills. They were in position to win with an overtime field-goal attempt, but the kick was blocked, and the Bills scored on the ensuing possession.

The Rams are 2-3, which is highly disappointing for a team that was the favorite to win the Super Bowl going into the season, but look at the teams they’ve lost to:

  • 49ers - Undefeated
  • Broncos - Last year’s No. 1 seed in the AFC
  • Bills - Last year’s AFC East champion

We shouldn’t worry too much about this week's matchup against the Cardinals. The Arizona defense has been awful this season, ranking last in points allowed per game (32.7) and 28th in EPA allowed per play (+0.09).

Arizona’s offense might be missing Marvin Harrison Jr. after the team traded him last weekend. The Cardinals could only put up 21 points against a Lions defense that ranks 31st in points allowed per game (29.6).

Sean McVay has been stellar against the Cardinals, winning 16 of 19 games.

Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Los Angeles Chargers)

Based on what we’ve seen this season, the Chiefs appear to be back in their championship form after a disappointing 2025.

They are 4-0 and rank second in total yards per game (412.0), fifth in points per game (29.5) and seventh in points allowed per game.

The biggest X-factor in Kansas City’s early success is the addition of Kenneth Walker. The former Seahawks running back has balanced an offense that relied heavily on Patrick Mahomes’ arm and ranked top five in passing-yard percentage in each of the past five seasons.

The Chiefs are coming off a bye week and now host the Chargers, who are in desperation mode. Los Angeles is 0-5, and they have not been competitive in most of their games.

With first-year offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, Justin Herbert is posting the worst numbers of his career, including a 59.4% completion rate, 6.6 yards per completion and a 26.6 QBR.

Giving Andy Reid and company an extra week to prepare always puts the opponent at a disadvantage. Reid is 9-4 when the Chiefs are coming off a bye, and he faces one of the NFL's most dysfunctional teams.

New England Patriots (vs. New York Jets)

The season started roughly for the Patriots. They dropped two of their first three games, averaging just eight points in those losses. Early on, it looked like whatever spark Drake Maye had that helped him finish second in MVP voting last year was gone.

Maye struggled at the start of the season; through the first three weeks, he ranked 17th in completion rate (63.8%), 25th in passing yards (508) and led the league in interceptions (6).

Then, Maye flipped a switch, and now he’s one of the best quarterbacks in recent weeks. Over the last two weeks, he’s third in yards per attempt (9.1), fourth in passing yards (643) and leads the league in touchdowns (7).

The defense is also improving, ranking 10th in opponents’ success rate (41.9%) and 11th in points allowed per game (21.5) over the past two weeks.

New England hosts an AFC East rival, the Jets. New York is 2-3, and while they are one win away from matching last season’s total, this may not be a better team.

The Jets beat the Browns and Titans, two teams that rank in the bottom five in points per game. Now they face the Patriots, who have averaged the most points per game over the last two weeks (37.0).

New England's pass rush could challenge New York’s inept offensive line. Geno Smith has struggled to stay upright this season; he’s taken 17 sacks, the third-most, and the Patriots' 11 sacks are the seventh-most.
