NFL Survivor Picks For Week 7: Roll with Brock Purdy & Co.
John Supowitz offers up three Week 7 survivor pool plays, including the powerhouse San Francisco 49ers visiting the Atlanta Falcons.
Welcome to Week 7 in your Survivor Pool. We have a strategy for which teams to pick against, as they have looked terrible this season.
These three games this week will help you come back for another week.
Week 7 NFL Survivor Picks
San Francisco 49ers (at Atlanta Falcons)
Should it matter that the Commanders almost made a comeback against the 49ers last week? No, because San Francisco dominated most of the game and made the necessary stops at the end of the game.
The 49ers are still probably the best all-around team in the league. They are third in points scored (29.5) and fourth in points allowed (18.3). We have already seen them use their offense and defense to win games.
Brock Purdy is playing the best football of his career. He has some of the best quarterback metrics, leading the league in EPA per dropback (+0.30) and ranking second in passer rating (118.1).
Purdy’s success has a lot to do with the brick wall of the offensive line that allows the lowest pressure rate in the league (16.2%).
The Falcons are eighth in the league in pressure rate (24.8%), but what chance do they have if the second-ranked Seahawks allowed Purdy to throw two touchdowns?
It’s also hard to know which Falcons we'll see in any given week. It could be the team that crushed the Saints 45-27 or the team that trailed the Bears 31-7 in the fourth quarter.
Minnesota Vikings (at Indianapolis Colts)
Nobody had the Vikings 5-0 on their bingo card, especially when you tell them it would be Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz at quarterback.
The offense has not been great: 32nd in offensive success rate (36.3%), 27th in EPA per play (0.10) and 22nd in points per game (21.8).
However, the Minnesota defense is leading the league in EPA per play (-0.23), success rate (32.0%) and series conversion rate (46.3%).
Now, coming off a bye, they face the Colts, who just delivered the season's first front-office casualty: the firing of general manager Chris Ballard. The final straw came last week when the Colts lost to the then-winless Titans.
Indianapolis has shifted drastically since it started last season 7-1. It has now lost 11 of its last 13 games dating back to last year.
The most notable regression is from running back Jonathan Taylor. In the first 10 games of 2025, he averaged 6.0 yards per carry and 113.9 rushing yards per game; since then, those averages have dropped to 3.7 yards per carry and 72.2 yards per game. Now he faces the best run defense in football.
Daniel Jones has been one of the worst quarterbacks this year, ranking 31st in QBR (38.2).
Los Angeles Rams (at Las Vegas Raiders)
Are we talking about must-win games in October? Looks like it.
As baseball legend Yogi Berra would say, “It’s getting late early” for the Rams. At 2-4, the NFC West may be out of reach given the 6-0 49ers, but a Wild Card is still in play.
Their two wins have come against the Giants, who lost Jaxon Dart in the first series, and the Eagles, who lost Saquon Barkley in the first quarter. This could be the first legit win of the season for a team that was the Super Bowl favorite coming into the season.
This is a Raiders team that might not be as good as first thought. They started the season strong, winning their first three games, but those were against the Dolphins, Chargers and Saints, who are 2-15 combined. Now they have lost three straight to two 2025 playoff teams (Bills, Patriots) and the Chiefs.
This is a great opportunity for Kyren Williams to bounce back after a couple of lackluster games, as the Raiders are 29th in rushing yards allowed per carry (4.9). Las Vegas also ranks 24th in passing yards allowed per game (237.3) and now faces Matthew Stafford, the NFL’s passing leader.
