The Panthers head to Cleveland as short road favorites, and Carolina has been one of the more pleasant surprises through two weeks. After a wild Week 1 loss to Chicago, the Panthers answered with a convincing 34-3 win over Atlanta, while the Browns bounced back from an ugly opener to knock off Tampa Bay.

Carolina is 1-1, but the Panthers have already played two completely different games.
Week 1 was chaos. The Panthers gave up 59 points to Chicago, but they also scored 37 themselves in a game that got out of hand quickly. Then last week, Carolina went out and absolutely handled Atlanta, winning 34-3. The Falcons started Cooper Rush again, and that offense was pretty hopeless, but you can only beat the team in front of you. The Panthers did exactly that.
The bigger news heading into Week 3 is Jonathon Brooks. He is dealing with a groin injury and has been placed on IR, which is just brutal given how difficult it has been for him to get healthy and stay on the field since entering the league.
Until then, this is Chuba Hubbard’s backfield for the most part.
Cleveland has already had its own rollercoaster start. The Browns got destroyed in Week 1, then had to deal with a lightning delay and a weird overall environment against Tampa Bay last week before bouncing back with a 23-19 win.
That’s the NFL.
I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this game is competitive. Cleveland showed last week that they are not simply going to roll over after a bad performance, and playing on the road in Cleveland is never an easy spot.

The Pick: Panthers -2.5 (-118)
I like Carolina at -2.5.
My guess is the Panthers become a pretty public side as the week goes along. They are coming off a 31-point win, the Browns looked dreadful in Week 1, and the market has Carolina favored on the road. It is easy to see why people will be drawn to the Panthers.
That said, I do think the number is right.
Anything over three would probably be a pass for me. Cleveland just beat Tampa Bay, and we have seen enough weird results through two weeks to know that treating the Browns as a completely dead team would be a mistake. But getting under the key number of three matters.
Carolina has shown more overall offensive upside, and the Panthers’ defense gave us a much better response after that ugly Bears game. Again, Atlanta’s offense was a disaster with Rush under center, so we shouldn’t get too excited about what Carolina did defensively.
I think Cleveland hangs around. But Carolina has looked like the better team through two weeks, and I am willing to lay 2.5 while it stays under a field goal.
Give me Panthers -2.5.
Best Player Prop Bets for Panthers vs. Browns
Darren Waller Anytime Touchdown (+340, DraftKings)
Darren Waller’s touchdown number immediately jumps off the page.
You can get Waller at +340 to score on DraftKings, and I think there is real value there given how his role has grown from week to week. This did not just appear out of nowhere in the regular season, either. Carolina used Waller in the slot and moved him around during camp, which was a strong indication the Panthers had plans to involve him near the goal line.
Jalen Coker 62+ Receiving Yards (-110, DraftKings)
The Browns have used two-high safety coverage at the lowest rate in the NFL through two weeks. That should create isolated matchups outside for Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker.
McMillan will probably carry the higher number and shorter price. But McMillan and Coker have posted nearly identical production in several key advanced receiving categories through two weeks, and Coker ended the 2025 season on a high note before carrying that momentum into this year.
If Coker’s yardage number opens meaningfully lower than McMillan’s, I think he could be the better value.
