DraftKings NFL DFS Picks For Eagles vs. Bears Showdown Slate: Eagles-Heavy Builds For MNF
Matt LaMarca breaks down how to approach the DraftKings NFL DFS showdown slate on Monday Night for Week 3.
We have an interesting matchup to wrap up Week 3. The Philadelphia Eagles will head to Chicago to take on the Bears, and the Eagles are listed as four-point road favorites. That stems primarily from the injury to Caleb Williams. He’s expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Backup Tyson Bagent is also unavailable this week, leaving the Bears with third-string QB Case Keenum.
The Eagles enter this contest at 2-0, but they’re lucky to escape the first two weeks unblemished. They won on a failed two-point conversion attempt by the Commanders in Week 1, and they needed a last-minute touchdown drive to get past the Titans last Sunday. There are still plenty of questions about this offense, and until they answer them, it’s going to limit the ceiling of this team.
Meanwhile, the Bears have had two wildly different performances to start the year. They erupted for 59 points in Week 1, but they followed it up with just three points vs. the Vikings. It’s hard to imagine a bigger disparity over a two-game sample. Of course, their last game was against Brian Flores’ blitz-happy defense, which can make any offense look mortal.
Can either offense right the ship in this matchup? Let’s dive into the top DraftKings NFL DFS picks for the showdown slate.
Spend-Ups To Target On DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown Slate For PHI vs. CHI
Jalen Hurts ($16,200 Flex, $10,800 Captain)
Hurts gets plenty of flak for his real-world performances, but there are no real issues with him from a fantasy standpoint. He’s sitting at QB9 through the first two weeks, racking up 24.72 and 18.16 DraftKings points.
Hurts has done it primarily with his arm. He’s thrown for 467 yards with five touchdowns, but he’s yet to find the paint on the ground. That has historically been a huge part of his game. He had double-digit rushing TDs in four straight seasons before sliding to “just” eight scores last season.
The good news is that Hurts is still using his legs. His 5.2 attempts per game are actually up from last season, and he’s responded with 31.0 rushing yards per game. If he can start finding the paint again, he still profiles as one of the best QBs in fantasy.
He has the highest projections in this contest by a pretty comfortable margin. That comes with the top ownership projection on the slate, but it’s tough to avoid him against an exploitable Bears’ defense.
DeVonta Smith ($10,600 Flex, $15,900 Captain)
Smith has stepped up as Hurts’ top receiver following the departure of A.J. Brown. That was a huge development; there’s a reason why he was Matthew Berry’s 2026 Ride or Die.
Smith put his increased upside on display last week. His utilization in that contest was off the charts: 39% target share, 63% air yards share, 75% end zone share. I wouldn’t expect quite that much utilization on a weekly basis, but it’s clear that he’s poised for the best season of his career.
Smith trails only Hurts on this slate in terms of raw projections, and the two players have some clear correlation. While Hurts isn’t the prototypical quarterback – his rushing upside means you don’t necessarily need to stack him – pairing him with his top receiver is obviously viable.
Saquon Barkley ($10,000 Flex, $15,000 Captain)
With Chicago down its top two quarterbacks, most of the offensive firepower in this game is coming from Philadelphia. That includes Barkley. He exited last week’s game early due to an injury, but he was able to practice in full on Friday. He’s off the injury report and ready to go, and he should handle his usual workload.
Barkley hasn’t looked the same following his monster debut season in Philly. He had more than 2,000 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns, and he averaged 5.8 yards per carry. He was down to just 4.1 yards per carry last year.
Barkley is sitting at 4.8 yards per carry so far this season, but that’s a bit deceiving. He had a 42-yard carry vs. the Commanders, but his other 18 carries have gone for just 50 yards. He’s ultimately still struggling to find the consistency that made him the fantasy MVP two years ago.
Still, Barkley ultimately has the best matchup on the slate. The Bears have surrendered a +2.1 fantasy boost to opposing RBs, which is the top mark in this matchup. Barkley’s projections are pretty similar to Smith’s, and those two are clearly ahead of the rest of the skill-position players on this slate.
NFL DFS Value Pick For Eagles vs. Bears DraftKings Showdown Slate
Dontayvion Wicks ($4,400 Flex, $6,600 Captain)
Wicks has served as the Eagles’ No. 2 receiver so far this season. He’s posted a 77% route participation, and he’s had a target share of at least 18% in both outings. He caught a long touchdown pass in Week 1, and he had five catches for 74 yards in Week 2. Ultimately, Wicks has finished with more than 12 DraftKings points in both outings.
There will be some volatility to Wicks’ production this season, but he clearly has more fantasy value than his price tag suggests. He’s projected for more fantasy points than all but Smith, Barkley, and D’Andre Swift as far as skill-position players, despite possessing just the ninth-highest price tag in that group.
Picks To Differentiate Your DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown Lineup For MNF
Eagles D/ST ($5,200 Flex, $7,800 Captain)
Call me crazy, but I have some interest in the defense that gets to face a third-string quarterback. Keenum last started for the Texans in 2023, and he had three interceptions in a two-game sample. Now 38 years old, things could get ugly vs. the Eagles.
Kalif Raymond ($3,800 Flex, $5,700 Captain)
We have to play at least one Bear, and Raymond gets the nod for me. He looks like one of the better value options on the slate. He was not expected to be a huge part of the equation for the Bears this season, but he shocking leads the team with a 25% target share. Ben Johnson liked him from their time together in Detroit, so he brought him in for a reason. While he won’t maintain a target share above 20% all year, there’s no reason he can’t continue to catch a handful of passes each week.
