FanDuel NFL DFS Picks For Chiefs vs. Colts Single-Game Slate: All-In On Kenneth Walker

For their second primetime game in as many weeks, the Chiefs get to host the 0-1 Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead for a Sunday Night Football Showdown. As always, I'm bringing you my favorite FanDuel NFL DFS picks for Chiefs vs. Colts and breaking my picks down into my preferred MVP selections and my favorite FLEX plays to fill out my three-max single-game lineups.

As a note for those dipping into the FanDuel single-game streets for the first time, they changed their format to match DK last season—a 1.5x multiplier for the MVP slot, with player salaries also costing 1.5x as much if you want to use them in your MVP slot. With a $60,000 salary to fill out six lineup spots, you're allocated an average of $10,000 per lineup slot, something to be mindful of when selecting your MVP and FLEX positions.

Chiefs vs. Colts FanDuel NFL DFS Single-Game Picks For MNF

FanDuel MVP Picks For KC vs. IND Single-Game Slate

Players are listed in order of MVP preference on FanDuel.

Kenneth Walker (RB, KC) - $17,700: The crown jewel of the Sunday Night game, I expect Walker to carry a ton of ownership at MVP on this slate after ravaging through the Broncos defense on Monday Night Football last week. His role was as advertised—74% of the Chiefs' rush attempts, 45% of the routes, a 25% target share (0.40 targets per route), 100% of the two-minute snaps and inside-the-five attempts—amounting to a 96 Utilization Score (RB4). As a near-touchdown favorite against a less-imposing defense than he saw last weekend, Walker should be both busy and productive with his touches once again on Sunday night. He's my favorite spend-up on the slate and someone I will have as MVP in 1, or potentially even 2, of my three lineups.

Patrick Mahomes (QB, KC) - $17,400: A quarterback in the MVP spot is always a safe way to approach a single-game slate on FanDuel, especially when it's Patrick Mahomes as the third-highest priced MVP on the slate. Any concerns about his willingness to run should have been calmed in Week 1, as Mahomes posted a 12% scramble rate and 7 rush attempts (QB4), which included a 15-yard scamper for a touchdown. He still added 33 pass attempts, but the ceiling could certainly be a bit capped if the dink-and-dunk style we saw in Week 1 (4.4-yard aDOT) is sticky. Still, he's an elite MVP option and could even come in more popular than Walker. I want to have 1 of 3 Mahomes MVPs across my three lineups.

Jonathan Taylor (RB, IND) - $18,600: If I fade any of the spend-up MVPs on this slate, Jonathan Taylor would be the one. His workload from a rushing perspective is easily the best in the NFL, as he posted 100% of the rushing attempts on 89% of the snaps in Week 1. The cherry on top was his 59% route rate, where he saw a 14% target share (0.20 targets per route). This quiets a bit of the game script concerns with the Colts as significant underdogs, and we know that if the Colts are competing or winning this game, Taylor will be a massive part. The difficulty with Taylor on this slate is his price, as he's $900 more than Walker and $1,200 more than Mahomes. On a slate with no comfortable value, he's my lowest priority at MVP. He will be in, at most, 1 of my lineups as MVP, but he might end up in none depending on how I feel about the value as I build.

FLEX Picks For KC vs. IND Single-Game Slate On FanDuel

Daniel Jones (QB, IND) - $10,400: When I started writing this, it was actually Rice in my first FLEX spot. The more I dug into it, it's hard to justify paying $400 more for him than Colts QB Daniel Jones. It was pretty clear in Week 1 that he's not going to provide the rushing upside we saw before his Achilles injury (at least early in the season), posting a 3% scramble rate without a designed rush attempt. Even so, he dropped back 34 times (31 attempts) and has a ton of talent to work with in his pass-catching room. He's expected to be trailing in this game, so that could push the Colts -3% DBOE from Week 1 up to closer to even, raising Jones' ceiling. Jones is my second-last priority in terms of spend-ups, but he will be a FLEX I target often.

Travis Kelce (TE, KC) - $7,200: He's a shell of himself, but Kelce still ran 79% of the routes in Week 1, right at the 80% mark we look for in high-upside tight ends. He more than doubled Rashee Rice's target share (21% to 8%) and showed a bit of after-the-catch juice on a long catch-and-run last week. He's significantly cheaper than the other Chiefs pass catchers, and given he should still be a red-zone priority when they pass in the area, Kelce is the most-likely pass catcher I roster on this slate.

Harrison Butker (K, KC, $6,600), Spencer Shrader (K, IND, $6,000): Like every single-game slate, I'll be targeting both kickers in this contest with a strong preference for Butker as a heavy favorite with a healthy team total. 

Others I will mix into my FLEX spots: Rashee Rice (WR, KC, $10,800),  Josh Downs (WR, IND, $8,200), Tyler Warren (TE, IND, $7,600), Chiefs DST ($6,800), Emmett Johnson (RB, KC, $5,200), Tyquan Thornton (WR, KC, $4,600), Noah Gray (TE, KC, $4,000)

Underweight/Fade positions: Xavier Worthy (WR, KC, $9,400), Alec Pierce (WR, IND, $8,200), Keenan Allen (WR, IND, $6,400)
