NFL DFS Tournament (GPP) Plays For Week 1: Target Eagles and Bucs Stacks At Low Ownership

Jason Cohen breaks down a trio of stacks and a one-off RB to target in your NFL DFS tournaments (GPPs) in Week 1.

Our first NFL Sunday of the 2026 season has finally arrived. We got to get our feet wet with two showdowns to start the season, and now it's time to dive into a full slate of games. DraftKings and FanDuel provide us each with a 12-game slate for this Sunday afternoon.

I'm going to break down NFL DFS tournament (GPP) plays that I like for the slates. This could be a QB stack that I like, an RB in a good spot, or a standalone WR/TE. The goal here is to get players that will be under 10% owned. There are so many games on the main NFL slates that there are always high-upside pieces to target that won't come in high-owned. Let's dive into it!

DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS Week 1 GPP Plays

Jalen Hurts - PHI QB ($6600 DraftKings, $8300 FanDuel) / DeVonta Smith - PHI WR ($6600 DraftKings, $7500 FanDuel)

First on the list is an Eagles pair. They get a matchup with the Washington Commanders. This game has a healthy total of 45, with the Eagles getting an implied team total of 25 points. QB ownership is pretty spread out across the board, with the only ones projecting above 10% being Jared Goff and Tyler Shough. I like this stack due to the pivot off chalk at WR. On DraftKings, DeVonta Smith comes in $100 cheaper than Chris Olave, but Olave boasts 3-4x the ownership. I love this spot to get off of that chalk. On FanDuel, Olave, Tee Higgins, and Nico Collins are all within $200 of Smith and are all also way higher owned. I'm not understanding the ownership here. I like DeVonta Smith to have a good showing in his first true game as the number 1 option with A.J. Brown departed to New England.

Baker Mayfield - TB QB ($5900 DraftKings, $7500 FanDuel) / Chris Godwin - TB WR ($5200 DraftKings, $6300 FanDuel)

Next is the Buccaneers stack. This is a prime matchup against the Bengals. Not only is there a high total, but the Bucs should be playing from behind here. Godwin isn't necessarily a pivot off chalk like Smith, but he is still coming in at single-digit ownership. I'm bullish on him being a massive beneficiary of Mike Evans leaving, and I feel that he is too cheap here. He showed up when needed last year, including a 26.8fp (PPR) performance in week 17. He’s still got what it takes to be a great fantasy producer

Lamar Jackson - BAL QB ($6800 DraftKings, $8400 FanDuel) / Mark Andrews - BAL TE ($3900 DraftKings, $5200 FanDuel)

The last stack I'm going to mention is the Ravens. Lamar Jackson saw a hit to his DFS popularity in 2025 due to the regression in rushing attempts. Lamar is still a very skillful passer, however, and I like this spot for him here. He is coming in lower owned than the others in his price range. Now, where I like to get really different is by pairing him with Mark Andrews. Zay Flowers is getting love and is projecting for high ownership on both DK and FD. And with the TE chalk being Michael Mayer and the spend-up TEs, Andrews is falling under the radar. On DK especially, where playing two TEs in a lineup looks strong this week, I absolutely love getting to Andrews, who I'm confident in still having a lot left in the tank at 31 years old.

D’Andre Swift - CHI RB ($6100 DraftKings, $6600 FanDuel)

Playable as a stack with Caleb Williams, but I’m mentioning as a single piece here. I like D’Andre Swift in this matchup vs. the Panthers. The game has a nice total at 46.5, and the Bears should be playing from ahead here. This should lead to increased rush attempts for Swift. Kyle Monangai had been listed “week to week”, but was just officially taken off the injury report. It is reasonable to assume he may be limited in even the slightest capacity here, only helping Swift out even more. Swift is very capable in the receiving game as well. He is also coming in much lower down on DK to surrounding plays in Breece Hall and Travis Etienne, who I'm not in love with here. He is projecting right around 10% ownership on FanDuel, which is in the top 10 for RBs, but I still love the spot here and by no means is that too much ownership.

Week 1 NFL DFS is always fun due to the softer pricing and being able to really get different, and even leave salary on the table. I found many spots to attack here that I like, and that shouldn't come in with too much ownership. This is overall a chalky slate, with the spend-ups being jammed into every lineup due to the soft pricing, so finding ways to get different in GPPs is key. Good luck to all on our first Sunday slate of the new NFL season!
