PrizePicks For NFL Week 2: Riding Derrick Henry
John Supowitz highlights three PrizePicks Pick 'Em selections for Week 2 of the NFL season.
Week 1 saw a ton of offense, with nine games scoring 45 points or more. We also saw incredible performances from some of the league's top stars.
Week 2 has another intriguing slate of matchups where we could see some of the NFL's best players light up the stat sheet.
Week 2 PrizePicks for NFL Picks
Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard: More Than 55.5 Rushing yards
Throughout training camp, there were questions about who would be the Panthers’ lead running back in Week 1. Chuba Hubbard led the team with 10 carries, 49 rushing yards and a touchdown. AJ Dillon could serve as the change-of-pace back, and Jonathon Brooks could be used on passing downs, but Hubbard could get the bulk of the carries.
That’s why Hubbard is a strong candidate to take this week against the Falcons, as the Atlanta offense looked dysfunctional, with third-string quarterback Cooper Rush taking the snaps.
The game could be a blowout for the Panthers. Do not judge Carolina’s defense by last week’s performance, when they gave up 56 points to the Bears. Chicago may have the best offense in the league this year.
It could be much easier to stop the Falcons, who managed only 238 yards of offense against a Steelers defense that ranked 26th in yards allowed per game last season (356.9).
This could create a positive game script for Hubbard, giving him plenty of opportunities to run the ball. The Falcons’ defense ranked 24th in rushing yards allowed per game last season (126.2) and is missing several key players due to injury or suspension.
Ravens RB Derrick Henry: More Than 89.5 Rushing Yards
Every year we believe this is when Derrick Henry regresses, and every time we end up with egg on our faces. The 32-year-old looks great, and in Week 1, he carried the ball 24 times for 144 yards, and his 3 touchdowns moved him into third all time (125).
He continually proves he is the anchor of this offense, and that may be especially true in this week’s matchup.
The wide receiver room was decimated in Week 1 against the Colts. Zay Flowers suffered a hamstring injury after a stellar first half in which he recorded 150 receiving yards, and Ja'Kobi Lane was placed on IR due to a fractured wrist. This could mean relying on the run, and Henry is used to having a heavy workload.
The Saints’ offense had a fantastic second half in their loss to the Lions, but the defense struggled. New Orleans specifically had trouble stopping the run, allowing 165 yards on 5.0 yards per carry. Jahmyr Gibbs went off in that game with 156 rushing yards on 29 carries.
Cardinals TE Trey McBride: More Than 60.5 Receiving Yards
The Cardinals pulled off the biggest upset of Week 1 with a win over the Chargers. What we saw in that game was that, once again, McBride will be Jacoby Brissett’s go-to guy. He led the team in targets (12), target share per route run (35%), and first-read target share (41%), indicating that Arizona is designing plays to get McBride the ball.
This could mean the Cardinals aren’t confident in their wide receivers. It could be surprising to see Kendrick Bourne lead the wide receivers in targets (8), followed by Michael Wilson (7). First-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. is becoming nonexistent in this offense, with just 3 targets.
McBride faces a familiar foe in the Seahawks, which should benefit him. Seattle shut down the Patriots’ tight end Hunter Henry last week, holding him to 3 catches for 26 yards. However, the Patriots' offense struggled that day.
In McBride’s previous matchup last season against the Seahawks, he was a key player. His 13 targets tied a season high, and his 127 receiving yards were the second highest. That performance came with Brissett at quarterback. In his first matchup against Seattle in 2025, he had only 52 receiving yards, but that was with Kyler Murray at quarterback.
