Bell Cow Updates: RB Touch Leaders and Largest Projected Workloads for Week 8

Tipp Major breaks down three fantasy football running backs who could finish atop the NFL’s touch leaderboard in Week 8.

We're approaching the halfway point of the NFL season. Madness! At this pace, we'll blink, and JSN will be giving his Hall of Fame speech!

We're less than two months from the Christmas triple-header, and every team playing that day has a backfield story to tell. Particularly Green Bay, and look no further.

Their running game has been downright ABYSMAL!

But help has arrived.

Josh Jacobs was reinstated last week, although a potential suspension still looms.

Here's the 4-1-1. Green Bay desperately needs Jacobs to rescue its struggling rushing attack.

One thing I overlooked? The quick turnaround with Thursday's game against Carolina.

No way Jacobs was getting the lion's share of touches in his return, right?

Wrong!

Sixteen touches and a touchdown!

Now he gets a Panthers defense hemorrhaging fantasy points to running backs.

Sounds like bell-cow material!

Yet Jacobs didn't make my list. If he keeps playing, his time is coming.

Instead, let's examine these Week 8 fantasy football bell-cow possibilities.

RB Touch Leaders and Largest Projected Workloads for Week 8

Jaylen Warren | RB | PIT

You'd look at me sideways every day and twice on Sunday if I told you Jaylen Warren would be a top-10 fantasy RB in 2026.
Yet here the [bleep] we are!

Warren is outperforming his expected fantasy points by 4.27 per game! Only Bijan Robinson, Kenneth Walker and... Jawhar Jordan have been better.

Jawhar Jordan? What the... anyways!

Warren's 64.6% share of rushing attempts shows Pittsburgh isn't afraid to feed him.

But what happens with Rico Dowdle back?

Remember, Dowdle has history with Mike McCarthy from Dallas. Surely, that connection threatens Warren's workload, right?
Well, Week 7 gave us another glimpse.

Dowdle handled 15 touches. Warren? Twenty-one!

Whoa! There's room for BOTH backs to eat, and that could make Pittsburgh dangerous!

Warren might not maintain this ridiculous efficiency, but 21 touches with Dowdle involved?

That's a workload I'm buying!

Now come the Cleveland Browns, fresh off letting Tony Pollard run AMOK!

But don't get it twisted. This is still a tough run defense.

Keep feeding Warren, and this fantasy party rolls on!

Ollie Gordon | RB | MIA

Hitting the hole with VELOCITY!

Ollie Gordon has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers who scooped him up weeks ago.

Yeah, expecting De'Von Achane to handle a full workload was crazy!

At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Gordon can handle 20-plus carries, proving it with 25 in Week 7.

But there's more!

Gordon averages 4.71 yards per carry and ranks 10th in yards before contact at 2.36. Give Miami's underrated offensive line some credit!

Even better? He's FOURTH in explosive run rate at 16.4%!

Yo, he's making defenders PAY!

And if you're not convinced, check this out…

Now come the Patriots, allowing 24-plus RB touches and 4.5 receptions per game.

Gordon has dominated Jaylen Wright in carries, 52:17 over three games.

If Miami finally gets Gordon involved through the air, things could get REALLY interesting!

For now, that workload screams low-end RB2 with high-end FLEX appeal!

Quinshon Judkins | RB | CLE

The Browns have been ROCKING in Cleveland, cruising to a 5-2 start!

And get this. Quinshon Judkins STILL hasn't cracked 100 rushing yards in a game, although he came awfully close in Week 7.

But don't let that fool you!

Judkins commands over 58% of Cleveland's rushing attempts. That's bell-cow territory!

However, his receiving involvement has my attention.

Remember his last meeting with Pittsburgh?

SIX receptions!

Add an 11.4% season target share, and Judkins has another avenue to collect fantasy points.

Six catches against Pittsburgh, plus a healthy dose of carries?

Yo, that's not just RB2 material. That's a recipe for Judkins to crash the RB1 party!

And fantasy managers? We're ALL invited!
