If you've missed the relevant fantasy football news and notes from the last week, don't worry. Every weekend, I'll round up the two or three most relevant updates for fantasy football and break down the fallout of each.

This week, we had a pair of veteran RBs find new homes …

Nick Chubb's Return is Personal in 2025

Nick Chubb officially has a new home and has signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans worth up to $5 million. We, unfortunately, haven't been able to see the Chubb of old over the last two seasons since knee and foot injuries have limited him to 10 games from 2023 and 2024.

We all remember the awful injury Chubb suffered during Week 2 in 2023, which required two separate reconstructive knee surgeries. The first happened in September 2023 to repair his medial capsule, meniscus, and medial collateral ligament (MCL). The second happened in November 2023 to fix his ACL to reconstruct the inside of his knee.

Chubb was able to return in Week 7 against the Bengals last season and started eight games before he broke his foot in Week 15. During that time, he notched 102 carries for 332 yards and three touchdowns, along with five receptions for 31 yards and one touchdown. According to ESPN, he recorded career lows in yards per attempt (3.3) and percentage of carries that gained at least 10 yards (4.9%).

It definitely wasn't the Chubb of old, but the newest Texan believes he can get back to his old ways

That's all behind me. Injuries happen … With what I did, it takes about two years to really get back. So, I'm over the hump. Now, I'm feeling as good as I have been in a long time.

Even if Chubb believes a bounceback season is on the horizon, should we for fantasy football? I don't think so.

Chubb is going to be 30 years old in December and has suffered major injuries over the past two seasons. While adding him to this backfield could potentially hurt Joe Mixon, I don't believe anyone drafting should go so far as to call this a potential 50/50 split. Chubb will vulture some goal-line touchdowns, but it shouldn't be enough to have fantasy managers lining up to draft him.

Our fantasy football projections have Chubb sitting at 102 rush attempts, 442 rushing yards, and three touchdowns, which all amount to 69.3 fantasy points for 2025. This is probably the one player I'd be okay with being wrong about, because that means we get to see Chubb return to form, but I'm not betting my fantasy season on him.

J.K. Dobbins is now a Denver Bronco

After visiting with the Denver Broncos, J.K. Dobbins has now joined the team on a one-year deal worth $2.75 million and could go over $5 million with incentives.

My initial reaction for fantasy football is that RJ Harvey managers should not be overly concerned. What the signing of J.K. Dobbins essentially does is kill any hopes for Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime.

Dobbins is only 26 years old, but he has an extensive injury history that does concern me. He missed the 2021 season due to a torn ACL, was unable to play in all but one game during 2023 because of a torn Achilles, and then missed four games in 2024 due to an MCL sprain.

Now, Dobbins did have a very successful season last year—he saw career bests in rushing yards (905), receptions (32), and receiving yards (153). If you look at the number of carries he had that went for 10+ yards last season, 14% of his carries hit that threshold, and the average in the NFL is 9.5%. If Harvey were to surprisingly falter and not live up to some expectations, then yes—Dobbins would be able to compete for some of those touches.

However, I still believe in Harvey. He was someone Sean Payton really wanted in the draft, and even with Dobbins coming onto the scene, the projections haven't changed much for him. I'm betting on the ceiling for Harvey, even if there is a little less breathing room now.

The Fantasy Life projections have Harvey set up for 759 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns alongside 39 receptions for 276 receiving yards and one touchdown.
