Matt LaMarca pulls some deep cuts with Fantasy Football Trivia, focusing on record-setting NFL pass catchers.

It’s all about the pass catchers, baby. This week’s edition of NFL trivia will focus on the guys who catch passes. The list is dominated by recent players—which makes sense as the league has continued to go more pass-heavy—but there are some old friends in here as well.

As always, the answers are included at the bottom of the article. Feel free to let us know how many you got right on social media!

Let’s dive in.

Fantasy Football Trivia: All About The Pass Catchers

  1. Justin Jefferson has gotten off to a phenomenal start, racking up 495 catches through his first five seasons. That said, it’s not the best ever. It puts him one behind this receiver, who was drafted in the same class.
  2. Ja’Marr Chase became the third receiver in the 21st century to win the receiving Triple Crown, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He joins Cooper Kupp, who did it in 2021, and this NFC South receiver, who accomplished the feat in 2005.
  3. Chase led the league with 127 receptions in 2024, but who came in second?
  4. Getting to 100 receptions is a lot harder than it sounds. Can you name the two players who have done it an NFL-record six times? (Hint: Both guys played for at least three teams, and Jerry Rice isn’t one of them.)
  5. Jerry Rice is the GOAT when it comes to receivers, especially when it comes to scoring touchdowns. He had five seasons with at least 15 receiving scores, and only three other players have done so even twice. Can you name them? (Hint: All three played in the early 2000s.)
  6. Can you name the two tight ends who have amassed more than 100 career touchdowns? (Hint: Both played primarily in the AFC West.)
  7. No one has yet to get to 2,000 receiving yards in a season, but a few guys have come close. Which two receivers have cracked the 1,900-yard threshold?
  8. The Packers took a receiver in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He was their first receiver selected in the first round since this player from Florida State back in 2002. (Hint: He had 1,000-yard seasons for both the Packers and Broncos.)
  9. Brock Bowers set the record for receiving yards by a rookie tight end last season. Whose record did he break?
  10. Running backs can catch passes, too. Christian McCaffrey cracked the 1,000-receiving-yard barrier in 2019, becoming the first RB to do so since this player back in 1999.
