Four "What If?" Scenarios For Week 2 Fantasy Football
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by UNest ...
We keep telling everyone not to overreact after one single week of football, but what if … some things weren’t just a fluke? Could you imagine?!
Here are some major “what ifs” heading into Week 2:
What if: Drake Maye’s Struggles Continue
Sure, the Steelers managed a hefty 2-INT, 4-sack game against Atlanta last week. But that’s not really something to write home about, considering it was backup to the backup QB, Cooper Rush.
Drake Maye faces PIT this weekend without his alpha WR, A.J. Brown. And he’s coming off of a rough 3-INT loss in Week 1, where the most he could muster was 51 total yards to Mack Hollins. Sheesh.
Luckily, he’s still projected as FL's QB10 this week.
- FL Projections: 17.4 pts
- Bust: 13.6
- Xfinity Best: 23.3
What if: Atlanta’s Only Fantasy Producer is Bijan Robinson?
Hey, don’t shoot the messenger! I’m just here to remind everyone that the Falcons’ QB room is getting spookier than your neighbors’ fall decor.
Thankfully, Bijan Robinson is still feasting, because that’s the only way Atlanta can remotely get the ball moving … But the flip side of that coin is that Kyle Pitts and Drake London have suddenly become low-end fantasy plays.
- Week 1 Pitts: 0-0-0
- Week 1 London: 2-29-0
When you see guys who were drafted much later, like Parker Washington, Dalton Kincaid, Isaiah Likely and Chris Olave, all feasting, it’s hard to remain positive in your draft choices.
For now, all we can do is close our eyes when Atlanta touches the ball and wait patiently for Michael Penix’s (hopefully) grand return.
What if: Parker Washington Continues to Feed Families
Look, Trevor Lawrence is on Matthew Berry’s Hate list this week. And for good reason. Denver’s defense is primed to right itself after that Week 1 performance.
But I won’t quit on Parker Washington. Not after his 5-83-1 performance last week with Lawrence, who ranks 1st in TDs (28) and 4th in passing yards (2,444) across his last nine games.
What if: Arizona Defies The Odds Again
No one, except maybe Jacoby Brissett’s mother, thought Arizona could take down a Mike McDaniel-led Chargers last week. And yet, they did it.
Now, facing an intimidatingly superior Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, can Arizona somehow do it agai-Hahhaha. No shot, right?
Right?
Wait. Why are the odds at only +180?

Time to Buy Jeremiyah Love Making The NFL Leap
Few things are as breathtaking and fun to watch as Jeremiyah Love hurdling over defenders during his Notre Dame days. Many of those jumps set him loose on long runs on the way to amassing 3,016 scrimmage yards and 40 TDs for this multi-talented weapon who is taking his talents to Arizona. He’s not yet 21, and appears to have as bright an NFL future as any of the players just drafted. Now it’s time for forward-thinking fantasy managers to act when Love’s available in fantasy drafts in the months ahead.
