Three Data Standouts For Week 4 Fantasy Football
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter ...
Three data points are usually enough to tell a story. And with three weeks of the NFL under our belt, the data is trying to tell us something.
Sit down, kids. It's story time!
Detroit and the Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Defense
If you were to look at how NFL defenses are faring through three weeks, you'd quickly find that Detroit is allowing way too much of everything.
- Passing YPG: Ranked 32nd (299.3)
- Points allowed PG: Ranked 32nd (31.7)
- Def. Red Zone TD Rate: Ranked 31st (84.6%)
They're also allowing the most yards to the TE position (Hey, Darren Waller). This week, Detroit faces up against a hurting Panthers defense. It's just too bad some rain might stifle the shootout potential …
Rain or shine, you can still expect Jahmyr Gibbs to have the time of his life on SNF.
Goodnight Maye
Do you hear that? It's the sound of fantasy managers dropping Drake Maye. And I can't blame them! Because through three weeks, he's been playing like a plastic utensil.

- 6 INT (Most in the league)
- 1 TD (Fewer than Case Keenum, btw)
- Two weeks with single-digit fantasy points
- Weekly finishes: QB23, QB25, QB32 (!)
Even Mike Vrabel is starting to talk sh*t about Maye on air, calling his decisions "terrible," and saying he needs to "stop trying to choke the life out of every single play."
Goodnight MVP candidate discussions. Goodnight Moon. Goodnight Maye.
Dog Man (Brock Bowers)
Talk about a comeback. Despite Bowers missing the first two weeks of the season with a trimmed meniscus, he picked up right where he left off in 2025 when he was healthy. And that's ALL the data points I need, baby!
Through his last 13 games, Bowers scored 8 TDs and secured a top-10 finish at the position in seven of them. Oh, and four of those finishes were TE1 & TE2.
A healthy Bowers is a dawg, man.
It's no wonder he's at the top of the TE projections for Week 4 against KC.

Alex Cupps’ Week 4 Rankings vs. Fantasy Life Consensus
If you drafted Saquon Barkley or DJ Moore, you might be disappointed to find out where they fare in Cupps' Cupboard this week.
But hey! I'm just the messenger! Don't take my word for it. You'll have to read on to see which players Cupps is higher or lower on than consensus fantasy football rankings.
And because the editors told me I've met my "hometown hype" quota, I won't mention the goat, Tyl*r S*ough.
But just know, he is on the list.

WR/CB Matchups To Target & Fade In Week 4
As Chris Allen says, "tossing a lasagna in the oven won’t fix your fantasy roster."
Which translates to: Matchups are EVERYTHING.
If you're on the fence about any of these WRs, you'll want to check out who they're fighting up against on defense.
- Jaylen Waddle
- Michael Wilson
- Zay Flowers
- George Pickens
Who should you target or avoid in Week 4?
