Week 9 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Tyrone Tracy, Dylan Sampson and More Adds
Tyrone Tracy and Dylan Sampson highlight Kendall Valenzuela's Week 9 waiver wire adds.
With six teams on a bye during the only Bye-Maggedon of the season, I know some lineups were a little sickening to look at, but thank goodness that's over. Of course it's another week with key injuries to different positions — Cam Skattebo was carted off after a brutal ankle injury (here's a chance to be a decent human and don't watch/share the video) and some players just weren't able to suit up on Sunday — like Drake London and Lamar Jackson.
There are four teams on a bye in Week 9, so you'll be without the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There might be some hidden gems on the waiver wire this week so pay attention — your leaguemates may have been forced to drop some good stashes (I saw at least two late-week Tyrone Tracy drops for a TE, for instance) last week so make sure to take advantage of that.
The NFL trade deadline is also something we have to keep an eye on! The deadline is on Tuesday, November 4th, at 4:00pm ET and we could potentially see some fantasy producers on the move. Anticipate or react? It's up to you, but we'll have you covered throughout the week.
All rostership percentages are from Yahoo and, as always, I try to focus on highlighting players less than 40% rostered. Also, don't forget our Waiver Wire Tool, which will have even more targets and suggestions on a weekly basis.
NFL Week 8 Injuries
- Cam Skattebo (ankle)
- Quinshon Judkins (shoulder)
- Saquon Barkley (groin)
- Luther Burden (concussion)
- Drake London (hip)
- AJ Brown (hamstring)
- Tyrod Taylor (knee)
Best Waiver Wire Adds For Week 9
Tyrone Tracy (48% rostered) / Devin Singletary (2% rostered), RBs, Giants
Death, taxes and our favorite fantasy players going down with injuries. Sigh. Cam Skattebo suffered an awful dislocated ankle injury during Sunday's game against the Eagles and had surgery to repair it. It's more than likely that Skattebo is going to miss the remainder of the season, which makes Tyrone Tracy a must-add in fantasy football.
Tracy finished the game with 10 carries and two receptions for 53 yards and will now step into a bigger workload going forward. I want to also shout out Devin Singletary here, too. He's not a priority but someone to consider in deeper formats, especially if the Giants don't add another running back before the trade deadline.
Let's not forget Tracy had an impressive run from Week 8-17 last season as the Giants' lead back. We've been here before! (Thank you, Utilization Report game log!)

Dylan Sampson (13% rostered) / Jerome Ford (14% rostered), RBs, Browns
Of course another rookie running back had to go down with an injury in Week 9 — this time it was Quinshon Judkins who suffered a shoulder injury.
Dylan Sampson is the running back to target out of this backfield if we get news that Judkins will miss time. Judkins' last snap came with 8:24 remaining in the third quarter and by that time the Browns were trailing against the Patriots. Sampson notched just three carries for no yards, but he did catch five of his six targets for 29 yards. If Sampson is rostered, Jerome Ford is an option although it's not as ideal. Ford had no carries and two targets, so it's obvious that if Judkins missed Week 9 that Ford wouldn't be the featured back.
In Week 1, Dylan Sampson was RB9 in PPR, if you want to go down memory lane with me to that faraway place!!

Jayden Higgins, WR, Texans (27% rostered)
The Texans were without Nico Collins due to a concussion, and rookie Jayden Higgins had eight targets, which was the most out of all wide receivers. CJ Stroud really spread the ball around in this game against the 49ers — Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, Woody Marks and Braxton Berrios all had more receptions than Higgins, but we're focusing on the targets and routes here. Higgins is more of a stash play because Collins should be back in Week 9, but we'll have to wait and see if Higgins can jump up the depth chart.
Higgins, by the way, was a preseason target of one of our dynasty gurus, Sam Wallace.
Malik Washington, WR, Dolphins (15% rostered)
While I don't believe much in the Jaylen Waddle trade rumors, I do believe that Malik Washington is a receiver to consider picking up in deeper leagues (especially with Darren Waller's injury and stint on IR).
Tua Tagovailoa came into this flu game and absolutely surprised a lot of people facing a tough Falcons defense on the road. Washington had five total targets and came down with four of them for 36 total yards and a touchdown. Add him if you're in a deeper league!
Tank Bigsby, RB, Eagles (17% rostered)
The bad news: Saquon Barkley suffered a groin injury at the end of the third quarter against the Giants and did not return. The good(ish) news: Barkley said postgame that he isn't concerned and has dealt with this injury before.
We'll see how Barkley looks during practice next week—the Eagles are on a bye Week 9—but it's obvious that the handcuff to have on your bench is Tank Bigsby — he locked down nine carries for 104 yards while Will Shipley only had three carries for two yards. If you're a Barkley manager make sure that Bigsby is a priority this week and even if you don't have Barkley? Bigsby is a great addition just in case the injury bug comes knocking on the Eagles' door. It's handcuff season, friends!!
Colston Loveland, TE, Bears (22% rostered)
Cole Kmet was unable to play on Sunday due to a back injury, and with it being National Tight Ends Day, of course we have to bring up Colston Loveland! It hasn't been an ideal start to the rookie's season, but against the Ravens he was more involved. He finished the day with three receptions off five targets for 38 yards. With tight ends like Harold Fannin Jr., Mason Taylor, Dallas Goedert and Cade Otton on a bye in Week 9, Loveland is a worthwhile addition, especially since they are facing the Bengals in Week 9.
Isaiah Davis, RB, Jets (9% rostered)
Were the Jets playing the Bengals? Yes. Is he still worth a stash? Absolutely. With the trade deadline looming, Breece Hall has been a hot topic of conversation over the last few weeks. Even if Hall doesn't get moved, he's been banged up with a knee injury and if he misses any time then Davis would get the bulk of the carries with Braelon Allen on IR.
The Jets have a bye in Week 9 and Week 10 is anything but an easy matchup against the Browns, but Davis is still a great stash play. PRO TIP: Keep your eyes peeled for our mid-week "Stashes" column from Gladys Louise Tyler!
Tre Tucker (38% rostered) / Jack Bech (2% rostered), WRs, Raiders
As mentioned before with the trade deadline, Jakobi Meyers has been more than vocal about his willingness to be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders. This is not an ideal offense to target, but with Brock Bowers' injury and the potential of Meyers parting ways with the team it's more of a "just in case" waiver wire highlight for these two.
The Other Guys:
- Woody Marks, RB, Texans
- Brashard Smith, RB, Chiefs
- Chimere Dike, WR, Titans
- Jalen Coker, WR, Panthers
- AJ Barner, TE, Seahawks
