Most-Chopped Players For Week 8 In Guillotine Leagues™️: Kenneth Walker Is Available?
Jorge Martin cuts to the chase on the 10 most chopped players in Guillotine Leagues heading into Week 8.
Hi there, it’s Week 8. It’s the point where we look around and realize we’re now wearing more hoodies than flip flops. Baseball is coming to a close. And your Guillotine LeaguesTM are getting more fun to look at every week you avoid the chop. Call it Guillotine’s 11 for those that started with 18 teams. No word on if it’ll become a movie.
The waiver wires are becoming more loaded every week, so be ready to spend that FAAB. Just make sure you’re spending more with a long-range view. Look for players you envision being on your roster at the end when you’re in the final two. There are a few below.
Enjoy that you’ve avoided the Guillotine blade so far. Now that you’ve given yourself a few seconds to enjoy the view, let’s get into those players who got chopped the most in Guillotine Leagues. As always, make sure to check out the fantasy football rankings and fantasy football projections to make as informed of FAAB bidding decisions as possible.
Week 8 Most-Chopped Players for Guillotine Leagues
Derrick Henry | RB | Ravens
With 45 yards on 17 carries, it’s the second straight down game for the King. We’re not panicking. Lamar Jackson hopefully will re-join the starting lineup soon, and if it’s this week, all the better, because a trip to Buffalo is up this week. The Bills allow the fourth-most FPG to RBs (25) this season.
Nico Collins | WR | Texans
Oy, 2 catches for 6 yards on 5 targets. Not what any of us who drafted Collins signed up for. While the Texans are working Marvin Harrison Jr. more into the fold and getting Jaylin Noel more involved, Collins is still the alpha WR1 when healthy. What’s going to be tricky is that he’ll be on a bye this week, so temper the bid down a bit.
Kenneth Walker | RB | Chiefs
That was a tough watch on Sunday Night Football. It was his fewest carries (14) this season, and the 36 yards marked one of just two times he’s been held under 100 total yards. The Broncos are up next, which last year was an issue for RBs, but they are No. 10 in most FPG allowed to RBs (21.1). This is Round 2 for K9 against the Broncos, as he stuck them for 191 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs in Week 1 in KC. His bye is past, so get ready to unload some FAAB.
Josh Allen | QB | Bills
Sorry to all the fantasy managers who had to watch themselves get chopped with Allen on the bench. Now comes the fun part, as the man averaging 27.5 fantasy points is now up for bid in a lot of Guillotine Leagues. On the one hand, conventional wisdom is to not spend up at QB like at the other skill positions. On the other hand, this is JOSH ALLEN! Be ready to spend, and a date with the Ravens could be fun if Jackson is healthy.
James Cook | RB | Bills
Another casualty from the bye weeks. If Cook is available, be ready to unload a healthy amount of FAAB on the player who is tied with Christian McCaffrey with 18.1 FPG. He’s gone over 100 scrimmage yards four times this season. The Ravens are No. 5 in fewest FPG allowed to RBs (16.4), but this is a top-5 RB and definitely an endgame player.
Garrett Wilson | WR | Jets
This is a situation similar to Collins, where another wideout is getting extra targets because the WR1 is getting extra attention from the defense. Omar Cooper is the WR benefiting for the Jets. With the Raiders up next, they’re allowing 26.6 FPG to WRs (No. 14). There are some tough defenses against WRs coming up on the schedule, but this is a target magnet most weeks. Be careful on going too heavy.
Sam LaPorta | TE | Lions
So, did those 2 targets send a message about airing dirty laundry about contract talks? Hmmm. LaPorta drew no less than 4 targets any other week, so he’s a TE to target on waivers for most teams. The Vikings are up next, and that’s as tough a matchup as any. Careful on bidding too much, because this is a player who is very talented, but is also in a very talented skill position group that might make his targets volatile week to week.
Isaiah Likely | TE | Giants
Before going 2-12-0 on 4 targets—on National TE Day, no less, so rude—Likely had drawn double-digit targets in 4 of 5 games. That is more telling about what his projected usage is. He’s an endgame TE. The problem is he’s on a bye this week. If you have a decent TE to get you through this week, Likely could take over starting in Week 9.
Jalen Coker | WR | Panthers
Cokeheads, unite! In group tears. That’s what happens after logging 1-9-0 on 4 targets in his worst game of the year. Same for the whole Panthers offense. This offense has been very good the other weeks after the resurgence of Bryce Young. A potential shootout with the Packers could be happening this Thursday night, so keep that in mind when putting in a healthy bid on Coker.
Bhayshul Tuten | RB | Jaguars
Another bye-week casualty, Tuten has been a darling of the fantasy community with plenty of #freetuten references out there. In six games he has no fewer than 15 touches. With that volume on a top-10 offense, could he be an endgame player? I can see him at least as a flex on a title contender.
