Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings: Jalen Coker Rises Ahead Of Week 7
Joe Metz profiles two risers and two fallers in the rest-of-season fantasy football rankings ahead of Week 7.
We're six weeks through the season and into our second consecutive week with four teams on a bye as we inch one week closer to the fantasy football trade deadline.
To help with your trade conversations, let's dive into the rest-of-season fantasy football rankings and highlight some risers and sellers.
Risers In The Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings
Jalen Coker | Panthers | WR15
Two Panthers WRs in the top 15? Yeah, you're reading the rankings right. Jalen Coker returned from injury in Week 6 and immediately stepped back into a voluminous role, out-targeting Tetairoa McMillan 13-9, marking the fourth time in four games together this season that Coker has matched or out-targeted McMillan. His 0.31 targets per route run in Week 6 was a season high, as were his 145 air yards. Is Coker the better talent? Not necessarily, though that can't be ruled out.
The advantage that Coker has over McMillan is where he runs his routes, as he has a higher slot rate (44.0%) than McMillan (24.7%), giving him more exposure to the quarterback-friendly layup routes. With Bryce Young throwing for at least 280 yards in every game this season, it's becoming clear that this Panthers passing attack is here to stay, and the +5% DBOE (5th) points to the volume continuing for Coker and McMillan.
If you're able to acquire Coker for a mid-to-low-end WR2 price tag, it feels like a smash. He has legitimate upside to finish as a high-end WR2 or low-end WR1 this season, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him finish the season leading the Panthers in targets.
Zach Charbonnet | Seahawks | RB17
As of Monday, October 19th, it was reported that Zach Charbonnet "has a good chance" to make his season debut in Week 7, and boy do the Seahawks need it. Through the first six games, Jadarian Price (who is now on IR) leads the backfield at 4.3 yards per carry (on only 28 rush attempts). Between the two backs that have been a mainstay for all six games, Emanuel Wilson has averaged only 3.5 yards per attempt and George Holani only 3.1.
Being such a one-dimensional offense around Jaxon Smith-Njigba, it wouldn't surprise me to see Charbonnet thrust into a significant role out of the gate as the team starves for playmakers. While he may not take on a workhorse role, he should at the very least reclaim the high-value touches he saw last season, when he posted 72% of the attempts inside the five-yard line and 52% of the long-down and distance snaps.
If you can trade for Charbonnet and get him for a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 price tag, he's the perfect bench stash/FLEX play for contending teams with a ton of upside should he see a pure runout.
More rest-of-season fantasy football rankings risers: Bryce Young (CAR, QB7), Josh Jacobs (GB, RB14), A.J. Brown (NE, WR16), Germie Bernard (PIT, WR32), Colston Loveland (CHI, TE9)
Fallers In The Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings
Brian Thomas | Jaguars | WR73
Woof. It doesn't get much worse than what we're seeing from Brian Thomas in Jacksonville right now, as he's seen his role completely diminish over the last several weeks.

He last logged a catch in Week 4, having seen his route rate drop from 70% -> 59% -> 30% over that span. We even saw Travis Hunter get more involved on the offensive side of the ball in Week 6 after seeing Josh Cameron overtake BTJ in previous weeks.
Unless he's traded, it's hard to envision a world where Thomas has any fantasy value and belongs on waiver wires. In dynasty leagues, I'm still inclined to stash him, hoping for a fresh start given the WR-needy teams around the league (Rams, Commanders, and more).
Juwan Johnson | Saints | TE18
I was sky-high on Juwan Johnson as a late-round tight end target over the summer, and he paid off for the majority of the first few weeks. He posted a pair of top-7 positional finishes through his first three games, but has seen his role diminish over the last couple of weeks as the Saints have leaned more into 3-WR sets.
He bottomed out in Week 6, logging only 53% of the routes with a 7% target share, failing to secure a catch. While the Saints are a fast-paced offense that drops back a lot and has a beatable defense that caters to value in their pass catchers, Johnson has a bye in Week 8 and afterwards, should be joined by rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson, pushing him further down the pecking order.
It's going to be hard to get anything of value in return for him at the moment, and he's still worth a stash on your bench as a TE2 given the health concerns around Tyson, but it's hard to trust Johnson in your starting lineup right now.
More rest-of-season fantasy football rankings fallers: Dak Prescott (DAL, QB14), Aaron Jones (MIN, RB31), Omarion Hampton (LAC, RB34), Ladd McConkey (LAC, WR34), Jaylen Waddle (DEN, WR36)
