Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings: Malik Nabers Rises Ahead Of Week 8
Joe Metz breaks down two risers and two fallers in Fantasy Life's rest-of-season fantasy football rankings.
We have four more teams on a bye this week (HOU, NYG, NO, SF) and a handful of risers and fallers in the rest-of-season fantasy football rankings. Let's get into who's moving up and down the board, and how you should approach each player.
Risers In The Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings
Malik Nabers | Giants | WR7
Maybe J.J. McCarthy wasn't the problem in Minnesota, and it was Justin Jefferson all along? In 5 quarters with McCarthy, Nabers has 214 yards compared to Jefferson's 302 yards with Kyler Murray ... across 6 games.
Jokes aside, through his first five quarters at QB for the Giants, McCarthy has done everything and more to make sure Malik Nabers managers feel comfortable with him at QB. Week 7 marked the third consecutive game where Nabers saw at least 35% of the targets, with 0.31 targets per route run and fourth game in a row running at least 91% of the routes. He's also topped 100 yards in each of those four games with two top-four overall positional finishes.
It feels safe to set aside concerns about a QB change and lean into the fact that Nabers is simply quarterback-proof. He moves up to WR7 ROS, jumping guys like Chris Olave and Christian Watson. With the third-easiest fantasy football strength of schedule from Weeks 9-12 (after NYG's Week 8 bye), Nabers is bound to continue his ascension in the ranks.

Luther Burden | Bears | WR21
While a lot of the talk about Cole Kmet's season-ending injury is how it impacts Colston Loveland, it's important to look at who else could benefit—namely Luther Burden.
Burden has been scorching, as his 4-130-1 Week 7 now puts him at over 4.9 yards per route run this season while Kalif Raymond's role continues to dwindle (under 20 yards in three straight games). We'd like to see his route rate tick up a bit more, but Kmet's injury may lead to exactly that. With him sidelined for the year, we should see the Bears operate fewer 2- and 3-TE sets and more 11-personnel. If he sees any uptick in routes, he could blow the top off from a fantasy perspective and is someone I would actively try to acquire for a low-end WR2 cost.
Fallers In The Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Football Rankings
Kyren Williams | Rams | RB13
After a red-hot start to the season where we saw Kyren Williams dominate usage out of the backfield, things have leveled out in Los Angeles over the last two weeks. While he's still handled 69% of the snaps to Blake Corum's 36%, the rush share has been dead even, and it's actually been Corum who has been more productive from a fantasy standpoint:

This is more in line with what many expected ahead of the season, and it's encouraging to see Williams continue to dominate the pass-game work (46% routes, 12% targets). Even so, the trend towards a more even base-work split—especially with them splitting work inside the five-yard line—knocks Williams down from a low-end RB1 with mid-range RB1 upside to high-end RB2 territory for now. He's a fine target to buy low on ahead of Week 8.
Tyler Warren | Colts | TE12
As the Indianapolis Colts offense continues to spiral, so does TE Tyler Warren down the ranks. He's missed the last two games with a re-aggravation of his groin injury, and in that time, it's become apparent that the Colts are ready to blow it up. Trading star offensive lineman Quentin Nelson won't make life any easier for Daniel Jones, who has already struggled mightily this season, ranking as the QB41 (yes, 41) in completion percentage (60%) and the QB43 in yards per attempt (5.8), with 4 TDs compared to 7 interceptions.
It may only be a matter of time before we see Riley Leonard or Anthony Richardson take the reins, and we could also see Jonathan Taylor on the move during the upcoming trade deadline. While this could consolidate looks around Warren, there's no reliability in the QB play, and given his injury, we could still see him miss more time. It's simply too difficult to trust anyone outside of JT in your lineups in this offense.
