Week 7 Buy, Sell, Hold: Chris Olave Stays, Rashee Rice Goes, and More
Which players are we buying, selling and holding in Week 7? And which RB should we be pulling the checkbook out for?
By now, the writing is on the wall for some fantasy managers. Win/loss records are no joke and through six weeks, it’s time to consider if your team can make the playoffs.
If your leaguemate is really good at being really bad, but it’s time to take their most valuable player from them. They could use multiple starters rather than that one guy who isn’t enough to get the job done on his own.
And if you are the loser… it's time to trade your way back into the game. Package some deals and keep fighting the good fight!!
Now, let's get into some Buyin', Sellin', and Holdin'.
As is (recent) tradition, we start with the holds!
Players I'm holding
Chris Olave, WR, NO
Can you hear the whispers? Put your ear to the wall of any dark lit room with a television and you'll hear them. Because if the walls could talk, especially the four walls that have been watching ball with you every Sunday, they’d be speaking in whispers of Olave’s trade rumors.
While Olave is the Saints' clear WR1, averaging 43% end zone targets through 6 weeks, and coming off of his best game this season vs New England (6-98-0)… He's arguably having one of the worst starts of his NFL career. And his two 1,000-yard seasons in 22-23 aren’t enough to ease the pain in 2025.
Yet here we are. The Saints are 1-5. Olave (64) is 2nd amongst all WRs in targets, only behind Puka Nacua (65). And there are WR needy teams in the NFL who would be interested in elevating his potential.
While YOU won't be able to trade Olave away for his potential in fantasy land, the Saints might be able to. And if they do, he could see brighter days ahead.
Kimani Vidal, RB, LAC
You spent FAAB on Vidal for a good time, not a long time.
Omarion Hampton will return eventually. The Chargers could still trade for another RB. But after Vidal’s 18-124-0 rushing and 3-14-1 receiving in Week 6, ride this one out while you can.
Tucker Kraft, TE, GB
The tight end landscape is volatile.
Jake Ferguson currently leads the position in receptions (44). Darren Waller and AJ Barner have scored just as many touchdowns as Ferguson (4). And none of us saw any of that coming.
But before his injury, Tucker Kraft was poised for the top of the leaderboards after two solid weeks of back to back TDs and a 124-yard game.
But lately, Kraft managers are wondering "Will Week 2 Tucker Kraft ever happen again?"
As Dwain McFarland lays out in his Utilization Report, there are three options looming in Kraft’s future.
- Kraft can return to the TE we saw from Weeks 1-2 📈
- Kraft will return to the TE we saw at the end of 2024 📉
- The truth falls somewhere in between
Whichever scenario you lean toward, his sell-ability is low right now. Your best bet is to "hold" and cling to the hope that he can return to his pre-injury role from the beginning of the season.
BY THE WAY, you've probably seen us push the "get a free year of FanatsyLife+" deal if you download Comet. I asked it to design a logo for a team called "Darts and Krafts."

Now you have to hold him. You're welcome.
Players I'm Buying
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, CLE
Just as we were starting to see a connection between Dillon Gabriel and David Njoku in Week 5 (6-67-1), the injury gods struck in Week 6. While Njoku's injury doesn't sound serious, he may miss some time, making Fannin the #nextmanup.
We also have to consider that Njoku might be another trade target for the league as the Browns make their way through a 1-5 season.
Fannin saw 7 recs for 81 yards in Week 6 and he could continue to flourish should Njoku remain sidelined with his knee injury or (more permanently) traded to another team.
Mike Evans, WR, TB
When Tampa Bay drafted Emeka Egbuka last April, we all thought "ANOTHER offensive weapon?! Really?!”
Yet here we are in Week 7… Not only are Bucky Irving and Chris Godwin ruled out, but so is the prince who was promised (read: Egbuka). And the Bucs’ offensive weapons are ironically beginning to run thin.
Yet somehow, Tampa remains 5-1 despite the injuries. It doesn't seem to matter who is on the field, as long as Baker Mayfield has the ball in his hands.
- Six games.
- Twelve touchdowns.
- 1,539 yards.
- MVP material?
The return of Mike Evans couldn’t have come at a better time. Not only do the Bucs face the Lions in Week 7 (allowing 36.3 FPPG to WRs), but the team needs him. And after his hamstring strain in Week 3, Evans returning this week is allegedly in the realm of possibility.
Don't forget: This is a man who has collected 1,000-yard seasons like they were infinity stones. And he's got two hands full of 'em. The Bucs need classic Mike Evans and your fantasy team does, too.
Tez Johnson, WR, TB
Mike Evans 2.0 (kind of). This version is cheaper and riskier... but younger and healthier. And at the end of the day, he's a WR on the Bucs who will be catching passes from Baker Mayfield in a depleted WR room.
Cam Skattebo, RB, NYG (Pull out the checkbook)
I'm sure no one is offering to sell Skattebo after his 98-yard 3TD game in Week 6. But if you're lucky enough to have a leaguemate who is 0-6 and desperate for some trade action… Make. It. Happen.
You'll have to pay up. So be prepared to make a solid first offer before attempting the trade. But even with his fantasy points aside, it's just too much fun watching Skattebo on anyone else’s roster.
Hell, he's even making me like the Giants:
And if Skattebo’s ball-busting runs into the end zone keep coming, you'll be glad to have that lil' mad man on your fantasy team.
Players I'm Selling
Juwan Johnson, TE, NO
I could give you a long-winded explanation about how Juwan Johsonson hasn't caught more than 3 balls a game in almost a month. Or how Johnson is tied for 4th in the league for the most drops.
But it's even simpler than that.
I'm concerned with the fact that Johnson's target share (27% Week 1 vs 8% Week 6) and Utilization Score (97 Week 1 vs 37 Week 6) are consistently decreasing week after week…
… after week.
Rashee Rice, WR, KC**
**WHAT IS YOUR RECORD?
Teams that drafted Rice and subsequently stashed Rice have not been doing so well…
LOOK! I know that everyone is trying to pry Rice from your tired, but patient hands. And I know that you held him on your bench for 6 looong weeks. And yea. I know that you want to see this thing through, my boy.
But if you're one of those 0-6 teams with Rice on your roster, it's time to see what you can get for him.
Think of yourself as the Browns. You gotta dig yourself out of that hole and make some trades, buddy.
