Is Jonah Coleman The Broncos RB To Roster For Fantasy Football?
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Hims.
Halloween is still a few days away and yet things are starting to look scary in the Broncos backfield.
After a stint on the IR, rookie RB Jonah Coleman returned to the lineup in Week 7 and immediately looked like the Broncos’ best back.
Against the Cardinals:
- He played 50% of the snaps (74% of the second-half snaps)
- He handled 41% of the rush attempts
- He ran 34% of the routes
- And he took 100% of the short-yardage work

Broncos backfield Utililzation in Week 7
On the surface, the Broncos backfield usage looks like a messy, three-man committee, but savvy drafters can see where this is headed. That’s not an “eased in” workload for Coleman. That’s a player the coaches clearly trust in a backfield that is desperate for a spark.
Coleman is a priority add in waivers—he’s somehow available in 1/3 of leagues—along with Seth McGowan.
RJ Harvey, who scored a nice receiving TD, has a pass-catching role that should insulate him a bit from a Coleman takeover, but the same can’t be said for J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins is averaging 3.4 yards per carry and only 6% of his attempts have gone for 10+ yards.
If Denver is smart, this backfield will condense down to two backs … and Dobbins ain’t one of them.
Dobbins will be hard to flip in a one-for-one trade, but see if you can package him up in a larger deal this week. The sell window will be slammed shut in short order.
