Matthew Freedman's Favorites & Fades For Week 9 Fantasy Football

Matthew Freedman unveils his favorite and least favorite plays for Week 9 of the 2026 fantasy football season

It's Week 9.

We're just about at the halfway point of the NFL regular season, and this is when weather can really become a factor in football games, as we saw last week.

Cold. Wind. Rain. Snow.

Basically, the stuff that mailmen hate.

Also, on the topic of delivering, I'm still undefeated in the Fantasy Life work league and No. 1 in the industry FLEX best ball league. No big deal, it's not as if I'm competing against other fantasy football experts.

And, yes, I understand that the more trash I talk now, the more I'm setting myself up for an inevitable and ignominious end-of-season collapse.

Come what may, I accept the risk. What's the point of playing in work and industry leagues with a bunch of losers (except for Matthew Berry and Peter Schoenke, y'all are cool) if I can't make fun of them when I randomly happen to draft good teams?

I'm gonna enjoy this now, because the fantasy gawds could strike down half my starters at any minute.

As we all know, the temperature is dropping, and winter is coming.

Let's get into the Week 9 edition of Freedman's Favorites & Fades.

Here are the links to all eight positional breakdowns.
